Peter L. Althausen, MD, MBA

Dr. Althausen received his medical degree and MBA in healthcare administration from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. His orthopaedic residency was completed at the University of California Davis Medical Center. After residency, Dr Althausen completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has been practicing at the Reno Orthopaedic Clinic since 2005. Dr. Althausen is subspecialty trained in trauma and focuses on both pediatric and adult fracture care. Special areas of interest include pelvis and acetabular fractures, periarticular fractures, and complex polytraumatic injuries. Martin Jose Arraiz, MD

Dr. Martin Jose Arraiz received his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine and did his residency at the University of Utah Health Sciences in Salt Lake City, Utah. He has been practicing at the Reno Orthopaedic Clinic since 2002. He specializes in electrodiagnostic (EMG) testing and spinal injections. Richard W. Blakey, MD

Dr. Blakey received his medical degree and did his residency at the University of Southern California. He specializes in arthroscopy shoulder reconstruction, joint replacement, minimally invasive joint replacement, and orthopaedic trauma care. Dr. Blakey maintains a practice in the Reno area, as well as holding a monthly clinic in Elko, Nevada. He has been practicing at the Reno Orthopaedic Clinic since 1988. Dr. Blakey is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

 

 

Eric M. Boyden, MD

Dr. Boyden graduated from Williams College in 1984 and received his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine.  He completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He has been practicing at the Reno Orthopaedic Clinic since 1993, and focuses on adult reconstruction and joint replacement.

Since 1993 he has performed over 2,000 joint replacement and revision cases. Dr. Boyden is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and received his recertification in 2006. In October 2008, Dr. Boyden was appointed as the medical director of arthroplasty (joint replacement) services for Renown Regional Medical Center orthopedics department. 

 

 

Timothy J. Bray, MD

Dr. Bray was educated at the University of California, Irvine, San Diego and San Francisco. He completed an Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at the University of California Davis Medical Center and joined the full time Davis faculty for six years prior to joining the Reno Orthopaedic Clinic in 1987. He is currently the Director of Orthopaedic Trauma Services at Renown Regional Medical Center.

 

Dr. Bray is also President Elect of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and will begin serving as the President in 2010. His clinical interests are in fracture surgery and adult reconstruction including joint replacement of the shoulder, hip and knee.  He voluntarily recertified for the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

 

 

James L. Christensen, MD

Dr. Christensen received his medical degree from Creighton University and did his residency at University of California Davis Medical Center. He has also completed a hand surgery fellowship at the Merritt Hospital and Highland General Hospital in Oakland, CA. He has been practicing at the Reno Orthopaedic Clinic since 1979. He is subspecialty trained in hand surgery. Dr. Christensen is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

 

 

Ryan E. Dobbs, MD

Dr. Dobbs received his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine, and did his orthopaedic residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He has also completed an Orthopaedic Sports Medicine fellowship at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. He has been practicing at the Reno Orthopaedic Clinic since 2006. Dr. Dobbs is subspecialty trained in Sports Medicine and is a member of the AOSSM (American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine) and the Washoe County Medical Society. Dr. Dobbs is Board Certified by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

 

J. Jay Halki II, MD

Dr. Halki II received his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine and did his residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.  He has also completed a spine surgery fellowship at Orthopaedics Indianapolis.  He has been practicing at the Reno Orthopaedic Clinic since 2001. He is subspecialty trained in spine surgery. Dr. Halki's practice is focused in disorders of the neck, low back and thoracic spine, minimally invasive techniques, scoliosis surgery and adult and pediatric deformities. Kirk A. Kaiser, MD

Dr. Kaiser received his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine and did his residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He has been practicing at the Reno Orthopaedic Clinic since 1999. His practice is focused in hand, wrist and upper extremity surgeries, general orthopaedics and fracture management. Gregory A. Lundeen, MD

Dr. Lundeen received his medical degree from the University of Utah and did his residency at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has also completed a foot and ankle fellowship in both Sydney, Australia and Oakland, California. He has been practicing at the Reno Orthopaedic Clinic since 2006. Brett G. MenMuir, MD

Dr. MenMuir received his medical degree from Georgetown Medical School and did his residency at Louisiana State University. He has also completed a spine fellowship at Twin Cities Spine Institute. He has been practicing at the Reno Orthopaedic Clinic since 2004. He is subspecialty trained in spine surgery and focuses on disorders of the neck, low back and thoracic spine, minimally invasive techniques, scoliosis surgery, adult and pediatric deformities as well as cervical and lumbar disc replacements. Robert J. Parlasca, MD

Dr. Parlasca received his medical degree from the University of California, Davis and did his residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He maintains a practice in the Reno area, as well as holding regular weekly clinics in Winnemucca, Nevada. He has been practicing at the Reno Orthopaedic Clinic since 1983. Lex A. Simpson, MD

Dr. Simpson has more than 25 years experience practicing orthopaedic medicine. He earned a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1978 and completed his residency in general surgery and orthopaedic surgery at University of South Florida. Dr. Simpson then completed a fellowship at Kantonsspital St. Gallen, followed by a second fellowship at the University of Toronto, both in adult reconstructive and sports medicine. Dr. Simpson is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthopaedic Trauma Association, Arthroscopy Association of North America and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Simpson is Board Certified by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

 

 

Renny Uppal, MD

Dr. Renny Uppal received his medical degree from the Michigan State University and did his residency at the Michigan State University, Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies. He has also completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute. He is subspecialty trained in sports medicine. Dr. Uppal is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is one of the few physicians in Nevada who has his Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine from The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Dr. Uppal is also an active member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

 

Bruce E. Witmer, MD

Dr. Witmer received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond and did his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He is currently serving as the Co-Medical Director of Renown Rehab Hospital. He is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, American Medical Association, University of Virginia Medical Alumni Association, Washoe County Medical Society and Nevada State Medical Association. John E. Zebrack, MD
