Renown South Meadows Medical Center #1 in Quality
Of the 4,451 hospitals that HealthInsight reviews, 3,339 hospitals are performing better than 90 percent. In Reno, three of the four specialty hospitals perform at or above 93 percent. Topping the list for overall quality in northern Nevada, Renown South Meadows Medical Center was awarded the HealthInsight Quality Award of 2010.  Additionally, Renown Regional Medical Center and Renown South Meadows Medical Center received awards for continuous strong improvement.

Top 100 Integrated Health Networks The only healthcare network in Nevada to make the 2010 list, Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) named Renown Health one of the Top 100 Integrated Healthcare Networks (IHNs) in the nation for the seventh year in a row. Get With the Guidelines Gold Plus Achievement Award Awarded in October 2009 by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for maintaining two or more consecutive 12 month intervals achieving top compliance scores with six 10 Get With the Guidelines-Stroke Quality measures.

2008 Awards

Consumer Choice Award  For the fifth year in a row, the National Research Corporation awarded Renown Health with the Consumer Choice Award. Renown was the only health network in northern Nevada to receive the distinction.

American Heart Association Quality Award for Stroke Care
Renown Regional Medical Center was the first hospital in northern Nevada to be awarded the Get With The Guidelines - Stroke (GWTG) Silver and Bronze Performance Achievement Awards. The awards recognize Renown Regional's success in implementing a higher standard of stroke care. This ensures that stroke patients receive treatment according to nationally accepted standards and recommendations.

Northern Nevada Family Physician of the Year
Renown Medical Group physician John Hess, MD was recognized as the 2008 Northern Nevada Family Physician of the Year award by the northern Nevada Chapter of The Academy of Family Physicians.

Distinguished Physician of the Year
Medical group physician and endocrinology specialist James Atcheson, MD, was awarded the Distinguished Physician of the Year award by the Nevada State Medical Association. This award is the highest honor that Atcheson's statewide colleagues can bestow and is only given to one Nevada physician each year.

Stroke Telemedicine Program
Paul Katz, MD, Neurologist and Medical Director of the Comprehensive Stroke Center, presented in front of Congress at a briefing about stroke telemedicine in Washington D.C. on May 15, 2008.

Blue Distinction Center for Bariatric Surgery
Renown South Meadows was named a Blue Distinction Center for Bariatric Surgery by Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield. 

2007 Awards

Consumer Choice Award
Through the Consumer Choice Award, the National Research Corporation recognized Renown Health as among hospitals most preferred by consumers. The award addresses Best Overall Quality, Best Doctors, Best Nurses, and Best Image and Reputation, based on consumer preference.

2006 Awards

Hospital of Choice
Presented by the American Alliance of Healthcare Providers, this award recognizes America's most customer-friendly hospitals. The only hospital in Nevada and one of only 41 nationwide to receive the 2006 Choice Award, Renown is only the third health network in the nation to be recognized as a repeat winner of this award.

2005 Awards

Best Company to Work For
Renown Health was one of seven Nevada companies awarded with the title of Best Company to Work by the Nevada Business Journal. Renown was the only healthcare company to be recognized for offering competitive employee benefits including on-site daycare, matching 401 (k), performance bonuses, workplace wellness, and on-site fitness center.

2004 Awards

NOVA Award
Renown Regional Medical Center is the first hospital in the state to receive one of five American Hospital Association NOVA awards for 2004. The NOVA award acknowledges hospitals that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to their communities.
