Paul M. Katz, M.D.
Medical Director
Comprehensive Stroke Center

Paul M. Katz, M.D. is the Medical Director of the Comprehensive Stroke Center, which offers the most advanced stroke treatment in the region. He leads a collaborative team of experts, available 24-hours a day, to treat patients with the latest leading-edge therapies available. The Stroke Center is dedicated to providing the community with education on stroke prevention, symptoms, treatment and recovery. It is nationally recognized as a model for other communities, especially for its work with our rural communities in immediately beginning stroke treatment while patients are being transported to the Stroke Center.

Renown Regional Medical Center is the first medical center in Nevada to receive national certification as a Primary Stroke Center from the Joint Commission.

The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations is the nation's largest healthcare standards-setting and accrediting body.

Certification signifies that Renown Regional's Comprehensive Stroke Center complies with the highest standard for healthcare safety and quality of care.

The Renown Institute for Neuroscience hosts monthly Stroke Support Groups the second Wednesday of every month at Renown Rehabilitation Hospital, 1495 Mill Street. These meetings are offered for stroke survivors, their family members, friends and caregivers. Click here or to RSVP contact Nicholas Green, BSN RN, at 775-982-7331.
