|Paying for Your Care|
Online bill payment is now available for hospital bills which includes: Renown Regional Medical Center, Renown South Meadows Medical Center, and Renown Rehabilitation Hospital.
We know hospital bills can be confusing. At Renown Health we have worked to improve our policies for patients:
- We make sure charges are similar for like services
- We do not charge for over-the counter items like aspirin and tissues
- We have expanded our assistance policies to help more people qualify for reduced payments
We will collect your portion of the bill at the time you receive a service. We accept cash, check or major credit cards. If you have insurance, we will send the bill directly to your insurance company. If we do not receive payment from your insurance company within 45 days, you will be responsible for the balance due.
You will receive a separate bill for certain services. Your hospital bill will not include charges for:
- Non-Renown Physicians (you will receive separate bills for each doctor who sees you)
- X-Ray & Imaging at Outpatient locations
- Emergency Physicians
Receiving Care in the Emergency Room
If you visit our Emergency Room (ER), you will receive care according to your condition. If you are not seriously ill or injured, you will be seen in the order of your arrival. All patients in our ER receive a medical screening for their condition. . This is true whether or not you are able to pay for your care. Through this policy, we comply with federal law.
We require that patients who receive care in the Emergency Room pay a portion of the bill after their medical screening is complete and before leaving the Emergency room. .
Help in Paying Your Bills

If you are uninsured, but more than 200% of the federal poverty level, we may accept a discounted payment for your care. Your reduced payment will vary based on your ability to pay and the total balance of your bill. Service Prepayment for Self-Pay Patients/Non-Emergent Procedures
If you are receiving non-emergency services, you will be asked to pay 50% of your bill prior to the appointment. Reduced payments for patients who qualify and prompt pay discounts will be accounted for. Learn more information about prompt pay discounts.
The discounts described do not cover elective procedures including cosmetic and bariatric surgeries.
Renown Collection Guidelines
We work hard to work with you based on your ability to pay for your care. However, we do expect everyone to contribute something to the cost of his or her care. If you do not pay what you owe for your services, you will eventually be turned over to a collection agency but only after several billing notices and attempts to contact you. We are always willing to work with patients who will make reasonable efforts to pay for their care. Learn more information about collection guidelines.
