This support group provides support, education, networking, and resource materials to caregivers coping with a loved one diagnosed with cancer. In effort to provide the most supportive atmosphere for those caring for loved one dealing with cancer, this group is for current cancer caregivers only. If you have lost a loved one to cancer, there are these groups available for support: Grief Support Groups in Reno If you have cancer, Renown offers the following support groups: Cancer Support Group Men’s Prostate Cancer Support Group Newly Diagnosed Breast Cancer Orientation Class Lymphedema Education & Risk Reduction Class * Virtual attendance is available. Class fee includes partner. This class is designed for expectant parents to gain knowledge on current research and recommendations, which promote necessary infant health, wellness and safety. Parents-to-be will learn how to care for their newborn, including bathing, diapering, cord care, signs of illness, nutrition, feeding, infant safety, understanding newborn behavior along with growth and development. To attend, please register using the expecting mother’s name and information. Class fee includes partner. Please note: This class is a 2 in 1 class that includes the Newborn Care Class and Breastfeeding Basics and Beyond. The morning portion of this class will include breastfeeding benefits and techniques, the physiology of making milk, positioning and latch, how to know baby is getting enough milk, keeping up your milk supply, where to go for help, learn about our lactation consultants and breastfeeding forums. Pump rentals and a visit to our Lactation Connection resource center are also included in this class. The afternoon segment of this class will cover newborn appearances and behavior, daily care of the newborn, signs of illness, and when to call the doctor. Tummy time, comfort and soothing techniques, how to keep your baby safe, newborn screenings and vaccinations will also be discussed. Partners are encouraged to attend. This informative class outlines ways grandparents can offer support and assistance to a new family while discussing current birth practices and infant care trends. Grandparents will learn about newborn care, safe sleep environments, breastfeeding, car seats, product safety, how to help new parents and more.
