This support group provides support, education, networking, and resource materials to caregivers coping with a loved one diagnosed with cancer. In effort to provide the most supportive atmosphere for those caring for loved one dealing with cancer, this group is for current cancer caregivers only. If you have lost a loved one to cancer, there are these groups available for support: Grief Support Groups in Reno If you have cancer, Renown offers the following support groups: Cancer Support Group Men’s Prostate Cancer Support Group Newly Diagnosed Breast Cancer Orientation Class Lymphedema Education & Risk Reduction Class * Virtual attendance is available. Class fee includes partner. All women have different postpartum and recovery experiences after giving birth. This 2-hour class helps prepare mom and partner on what to expect after birth and the weeks to follow, and is offered every other month and is open to mothers and their partners. A few topics discussed in this class are: Postpartum care in the hospital Changes after birth Caring for yourself during postpartum The difference between postpartum blues and postpartum depression Mother’s warning signs Adjustments once you get home The new father or partner If this class is sold out and you need to take a class please email Chris.Marlo@Renown.org or leave a message at 775-982-4352.

Class fee includes partner. In this class you will learn about breastfeeding your baby using recommendations from health organizations across the globe. We recommend that all first-time parents take this in-depth class to help mothers get off to a better start with breastfeeding. Topics include the benefits of breastfeeding, breast anatomy, feeding cues, establishing a good latch, nursing positions, ways for partners to support and be involved in breastfeeding, breast pumping and breast milk storage, breastfeeding tips and available breastfeeding supplies and resources. It also touches on how to know if your baby is getting enough milk and when and where to get help if needed. Class instructor is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
