This FREE virtual seminar is open to all patients, family members, friends and caregivers. Learn about weight loss surgery and its effectiveness in resolving and improving diabetes and other diseases such as high blood pressure and sleep apnea. Topics include: Am I a candidate? The types of bariatric surgeries Renown offers along with the risks and benefits of each. Updated success statistics of bariatric surgery, resolution and/or improvement of diabetes and other medical problems. How you can expect to progress through the process and standard medical management following surgery. Lifestyle and nutritional changes needed to be successful. Information about our surgeons performing Weight Loss Surgery at Renown Regional Medical Center. Video enabled attendance is available. Patients can access remotely and join from any video-enabled device (smart phone, iPad, laptop, or webcam/desktop). Email with meeting link will be sent the day before the seminar. There is no charge to attend this class.

Would you please join us for Renown Health’s free one-hour virtual class for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) education? Our goal is to give you the knowledge to better manage your COPD by increasing your understanding of the disease process, medications and how to use them and creating an action plan you can use every day. This program is offered on the 4th Wednesday of each month and will meet from 3 to 4 p.m. Upon registering, you will receive instructions on virtually connecting 1 day before the class.

Class fee includes partner. Designed for busy parents, this all-in-one-day Childbirth Education Course will help prepare mom and her partner for the many aspects of childbirth. You’ll learn the many facets of delivery, with the opportunity to ask questions, helping you make informed decisions about critical issues surrounding your baby’s birth. Topics include: Healthy developments in your pregnancy Stages of labor Warning signs Breathing and relaxation techniques Comfort measures Role of the support person and labor support Birth planning How to tell when you are in labor Pain relief options during labor/medical procedures How a birth doula can help Cesarean birth and Postpartum Our certified instructors will offer you support and guidance through education uniquely to meet your individual needs. We believe that childbirth is a process, not a method, and we recognize that there is no one right way to give birth. To attend, please register using the expecting mother’s name and information. Please bring the following to the class: 75 cm exercise/yoga ball 2-bed pillows A mat or towel for breathing and relaxation practice * Note: This class will not include a Baby and Family Suites Tour.
