About Us

The Community Benefit Program collaborates with departments and divisions across the Renown Health Network. Our leadership team consists of Wendy Damonte, Vice President of Advocacy and Community Partnership and Cristina Want, Community Benefit Liaison.

Vice President of Advocacy and Community Partnership

Wendy comes to Renown from KTVN Channel 2 where she held a long and distinguished career in the news industry. She advances Renown Health’s mission by cultivating relationships with community organizations and is responsible for building strong grassroots engagement by increasing Renown’s visibility and program delivery. Additionally, Wendy collaborates to advance Renown’s public stance for health and health policy issues.

Wendy is a longtime Reno resident, graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno with a major in journalism and Spanish. She is an avid outdoor enthusiast competing in triathlons and adventure races. She lives on a local ranch with her husband and two children.

Cristina Want

Community Benefit Liaison

Cristina comes to Reno from Youth Policy Institute in Los Angeles, where she led the implementation of "Promise Neighborhoods." Promise Neighborhoods is one of the signature programs of the White House Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative, which supports innovative and inclusive strategies that bring public and private partners together to help break the cycle of intergenerational poverty. In her role as a Community Benefit Liaison, she engages and involves community leaders in collaborative efforts to improve community health. She partners with local and regional non-profits for the purpose of improving community health and addressing needs and projects identified in the Community Benefit Plan.
