Northern Nevada does not have this type of home-like hospice environment currently available. Most hospice programs in the area keep patients in their homes or at private facilities with a clinical atmosphere similar to a hospital setting. When medical treatments no longer offer a cure and a loved one is facing the end of life, it can be a daunting experience for the patient and his or her family.
Help us build a space where our patients can face the end of life with compassion and dignity.
The creation of the Renown Hospice House, a peaceful, nurturing, home-like environment with round-the-clock care where people can comfortably spend their remaining days of life, is needed. The facility will provide compassionate care for patients whose caregivers require short-term respite from home care and those with uncontrollable pain and symptom management issues requiring round-the-clock nursing care. Palliative care, including stress and pain relief, grief counseling and emotional support for both patients and their families will also be offered on site.
