Position Purpose

This position is responsible for leading and overseeing overall operations of Renown South Meadows and Renown Rehab Hospital. The position works with the Acute Services, Health Services, and other leadership team members to establish strategies to ensure the organization’s short- and long-term goals and objectives are achieved in accordance with plans and budgets.

 

This position will act as a steward in the design and implementation of organizational processes and practices that promote the direction and strategy for acute services.

 

Working with leadership, clinical and administrative staff, this position provides for well-managed facilities with clear lines of responsibility and accountability within departments and between departments and administration. This position will promote favorable customer relationships and coordinates service-related issues of the medical staff.

 

 

 

Nature and Scope

Using discretion and independent judgment and within a matrix management environment, this position is ultimately responsible for all unit/department operations of Renown South Meadows and Renown Rehab Hospital.

 

This position directs the development of short and long-range objectives, budgets, and operating plans for the medical centers. This position oversees operations, and the application and implementation of established policies and acts as a liaison with departments, and the control and effective utilization of physical and financial resources.

 

This position’s functions include planning and coordinating facility activities, program and service evaluation, development of policies and procedures and oversight of quality assurance standards and programs related to the acute services at Renown South Meadows and Renown Rehab Hospital.

 

This position ensures fiscal integrity through the implementation of an operational budget consistent with the overall strategic plan. This position directs resource allocation to promote effective utilization of all resources and provides for internal controls, which protect human, physical, financial and information resources.

 

The incumbent attends all meetings of the medical centers governing bodies, presents to the governing bodies or their authorized committees periodic reports reflecting the operations, long and short-term plans, professional services, financial activities of the medical centers and other special reports, as necessary.

 

This position ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations governing health care delivery and with all appropriate accrediting inspecting agencies (i.e., The Joint Commission) by continually monitoring the operation of services and programs and initiating changes, as necessary.

 

This position will have responsibility in the supervision of leadership staff, including the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline employees. This position is required to use independent discretion and judgment with respect to supervisory and leadership decisions and recommendations.

 

This position does not provide direct patient care.

Education:

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Master’s Degree in healthcare administration, nursing or related field. Proven experience in a similar role may be substituted for degree.

Experience:

Five years of senior administrative leadership experience in an acute care facility or health network of similar size and scope.

Computer / Typing:

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and Word and have the ability to use the computer for online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
