Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Registered Nurse license or a Master’s in Public Health degree is required.

If RN, OCN Certification required within 4 years of employment.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

Position Purpose
|
The Oncology Program Manager is a registered nurse who has expertise in oncology nursing practice or has a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) that is responsible for the development, implementation, operation, and evaluation of oncology (disease specific) clinical programs and accreditation standards. This position is responsible for the organization of support services and systems necessary for a multidisciplinary approach to providing quality care to cancer patients and the larger community.
This position will collaborate with other employees from multiple departments/cost centers and is responsible for communication of resource needs across multiple departments both internally and externally.

Nature and Scope
|
This position is considered a clinical expert in cancer prevention, screening, and care, is responsible for oversight of a highly complex patient population and program(s). This position assumes responsibility for quality and performance improvement activities as they relate to the cancer patient and care coordination.
Responsibilities include communication to internal and external stakeholders, oversight of the programmatic quality performance improvement plans across the continuum of care, and partnership with care providers. This position collaborates with medical faculty, clinical staff, administration, leadership, and others to ensure the effectiveness of patient care.
Additionally, this position works in conjunction with cancer leadership, the programmatic Medical Director(s) and aligns with the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, NCCN Guidelines, National Cancer Database, American College of Radiology – Radiation Oncology quality measures for cancer prevention, screening, and follow-up care within the adult population.
Performance is expected to be measured empirically and compared with organizations of similar size, scope and complexity and such performance is expected to be better than peer organizations and functions.
This position does not provide patient care.
