This position provides leadership, strategic direction and management for Renown Foundation to execute its mission of serving Renown Health by securing philanthropy for programs, services and capital needs.
This position directs the team of development officers to cultivate, solicit and steward major and planned giving prospects/donors. These include individuals who are grateful patients, business owners, executives, physicians, community leaders, etc.
This position will also be directly responsible for 75-100 prospects/donors and an annual revenue goal in their personal portfolio. Updates major donor prospective pipeline.
This position will be primarily responsible for overseeing how the team of development officers support specific hospital service lines as well as other high priority projects for Renown Health. Support may include creation and implementation of developing a case for support; identifying and recruiting a compelling solicitation team of physicians, volunteers and senior executives. Teamwork and collaboration with other departments required.
It is the responsibility of this position to regularly maintain the donor database records for assigned donors/prospects as interactions with prospective donors and volunteers occur.
The incumbent has frequent contact and regular working relationships with the CDO, the Senior Director of Foundation Operations, and the Renown Executive and Administrative Teams.
Outside of Renown Health, this position works closely with the volunteer Trustees serving on the Board, community volunteers who work on various committees and with influential community members who are current or prospective donors. In addition, the incumbent participates in community organizations and events to foster visibility and on-going relationships beneficial to Renown and to educate community leaders about Renown’s not-for-profit mission.
Leading the team of fundraisers includes setting and achieving annual metrics and multi-goals for:
- Funds raised.
- Individual visits which advance a cultivation or solicitation strategy - may be in-person donor/prospect meetings or phone/video meetings of substance
- Solicitations/year with ask levels of $25,000 or more
- Solicitations for charitable estate planning
Qualifications include:
v Highly sophisticated understanding of and experience with all aspects of the cultivation and solicitation cycle including moves management.
v Strategic planning for individual prospects to include cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, etc.
v Experience personally asking for major gifts.
v Experience working in complex healthcare organizations
v Knowledge of healthcare philanthropy department operations.
v Excellent written and oral communication skills.
v Track record of successfully managing current and prospective donors at the major gifts level ($25,000 or greater).
v Ambitious and motivated professional who values a collaborative working environment; outstanding social skills, instinct and judgment.
v Able to establish strong interpersonal relationships with donors, foundation trustees, development staff, senior leadership and physicians.
v Maturity, integrity, and sense of humor required.
