Technical Specialist Knowledge Bonus Eligible Up to $30,000

This position functions are to ensure operational, quality and technical accuracy for all pre-analytical, analytical and post analytical procedures in specific lab departments.

The incumbent serves as the subject matter expert and demonstrates a strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems as they arise. In addition, they must be able to perform all the duties as outlined in the Medical Lab Scientist and the Medical Lab Scientist Senior job descriptions as assigned by the Clinical Laboratory Supervisor. The incumbent is expected to collaborate with IT and LIS analysts on a regular basis.

Renown Health is a 24-hour/7-days a week operation, providing laboratory services to both inpatient and outpatients of all ages. The incumbent must be able to communicate with a diverse patient population and their family when performing special procedures

This position does provide patient care.

The incumbent must be knowledgeable of and observe all safety requirements in a laboratory and hospital setting.

This position is a career ladder position. Interest in further career ladder advancement may proceed with expressed interest in mutually defined goals, mentorship and evaluation by their formal leader. Variable routine or advanced testing requirements – as needed, ~40% bench and 60% administrative duties.

Description

Education:

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Appropriate education and credentials to obtain and maintain a General Supervisor License from the state of Nevada.

Experience:

Minimum three years of Clinical Laboratory Science experience is required in their specific area of over sight. Five years of experience preferred.

License(s):

A current State of Nevada Clinical Laboratory Technologist license as a General Supervisor is required within seven (7) months of hire.

Certification(s):

National certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) or equivalent is required. ASCP Specialist Certification preferred.

Computer / Typing:

Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc. Knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems.
