The Transfer Center Nurse Specialist operates in multi-functional team that supports the evaluation, consultation, and transfer of patients for both Renown Health hospitals. The Transfer Center Nurse efficiently facilitates complex requests relating to physician consults, telemedicine requests, timely patient transfers between facilities, as well as accurate and efficient patient placement within each hospital and the coordination of transportation. 
This position operates within Renown Transfer and Operations Center (RTOC), the only Hospital Command Center in Nevada. They will coordinate with the entire bed placement team, hospital leadership, House Supervisors, and Nursing Leadership to secure appropriate placement of patients as well as expedite patient flow. This position serves as the central point of contact for system capacity and is called upon as a leader to disseminate vital information regarding area hospitals to manage capacity and patient flow within the region.
This role provides leadership and assumes accountability for appropriate patient placement and resource utilization through collaboration with Renown Management, Clinical Staff, Unit Staff, and RTOC Staff. Provides support for all staff members while delivering quality service through a team oriented, collaborative approach.

Minimum Qualifications - Required and/or Preferred

Education: Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Appropriate education to obtain and maintain State of Nevada Registered Nurse licensure. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of Acute Care nursing experience or 2 years of Critical Care or ED nursing experience required.

License(s): Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Registered Nurse license.

Certification(s): Current BLS / CPR certification required.

Computer / Typing: Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
