Labor Assessment Area
The Labor Assessment Area is located on the 2nd Floor of the Sierra Tower in Renown Children’s Hospital. This is where moms-to-be are evaluated to determine if they’re in labor or how far along they are.
This area features:
- Six private patient rooms
- Nurse's station
- Family lounge
- Advanced 3D ultrasound machine
- Original artwork
Labor & Delivery
Our 15 newly renovated private Labor & Delivery rooms, 9 private antepartum rooms (rooms for pregnant mothers who require hospitalization), are designed to help make you as comfortable as possible. Our qualified doctors and medical professionals — including 5 transition nurses, on staff to help promote skin-to-skin contact of mothers and babies — are here for you throughout your childbirth journey.
Birthing balls, peanut balls and rocking chairs are all available upon request.Delivery Room Virtual Tour
If a cesarean birth is needed, everything is available on the same ‑floor. An anesthesiologist is present 24 hours a day as part of your healthcare team.Operating Room Virtual Tour
Having a baby is a special time for you and your family. Our 42 Baby & Family Suites are private rooms that offer the most luxurious amenities as well as a team of expert professionals.We encourage rooming in of babies with mothers to promote bonding and breastfeeding. A newborn nursery is available for closer monitoring if necessary.
William N. Pennington Nursery
This state-of-the art nursery features a family viewing area, complete with a built-in bench so younger siblings can see the new baby. The nursery also includes built-in radiant warmers, new scales and blanket warmers, conveniently located together to keep babies warm.
