Critical Care

It’s nursing at its best… advanced skills, high-tech knowledge, leading-edge critical thinking. From trauma to cardiac to medical and surgical patients, we've got it all. The only Level II Trauma Center in northern Nevada, we see patients from throughout the region with a surprisingly high level of acuity that will challenge your skills. Critical care units exist in two of our hospitals.

Renown Regional Medical Center

Intensive Care Unit/Intensive Care Courtyard: These two units have new technology and a highly complex patient mix which combine to make this an exciting working environment. Nurses here put on a national trauma conference annually, Trauma the Challenge.

Cardiac Intensive Care/Cardiac Surgical Care: This unit has the same new technology and highly complex patient mix. Additionally, this unit is located in our new patient care tower that was completed in January 2008 and the new private rooms offer our patients a beautiful, healing environment. Nurses here put on a national cardiac conference annually, Trends in Cardiovascular Nursing.

Telemetry: Two units offer an excellent foundation to new graduates and RNs who have a passion for cardiac nursing. We are dedicated to teaching student nurses, nursing interns and new staff. The new patient care tower affords our patients private rooms and a healing environment. In addition to cardiac patients, these two units have a variety of patients with other medical and nursing diagnoses.

Renown South Meadows Medical Center

Intensive Care Unit: This 155-bed modern hospital has an intensive care unit that features the latest in technology.

Telemetry: Telemetry is a key department in Renown Health's newest hospital, which was the region’s first acute-care facility to be built in more than 20 years.
