Breastfeeding (Beyond the Basics) @ Renown Regional Medical Center
Mar 4 @ 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Get off to a “Great Start” with our breastfeeding your newborn class. Babies are born to breastfeed and in this class you will learn about latching and positioning techniques, how to establish or increase an abundant milk supply, signs of success and how to avoid or treat common breastfeeding concerns. In-depth discussion about the first days of feeding, the importance of skin-to-skin contact and rooming-in at the hospital, you will also learn your baby’s hunger cues. Guidance on nursing bras, pillows and other support items are included. The main focus of Breastfeeding your newborn class is in the early weeks and months of nursing.

Parents leave this class feeling more confident in their ability to nourish their newborn and to make informed feeding choices. This class may be taken after the fifth of the month of pregnancy,  prior to giving birth or after the birth of your baby.

Our breastfeeding classes are taught by experienced lactation educators and or consultants.

This event will be held within Renown Regional Medical Center in the Tahoe Tower at Mack Auditorium. The class cost is $20 including your spouse or partner, who is encouraged to attend.

This group is for patients and families facing cancer, and is facilitated by an Oncology Social Worker who is skilled in the emotional aspects of cancer.

Meeting format enables participants to share experiences and express feelings and concerns.

The support group meets weekly on Thursday, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Renown Regional Medical Center in the Roseview Tower, Third Floor Orthopedic Conference Room.

This is an “All in a day” Childbirth Education Course that will help empower women and their partners to make more informed choices during labor and birth. This class was designed for busy parents who are short on time, but still want to learn valuable and crucial information before baby arrives.

This class will include detailed discussions about : Anatomical and physiological changes of pregnancy, signs of labor/when to call the doctor, stages of labor and delivery, internal and external fetal heart monitoring, medications used in labor and delivery, cesarean delivery, relaxation, comfort measures, labor support and breathing. This class covers everything you will need to know from the early days before labor begins to the birth of your baby and postpartum.
We believe that childbirth is normal and our goal is to educate, empower and build confidence in your ability to give birth.

It is with a wide range of knowledge skill and experience that our certified educators (through ICEA) can help support women and their families make the most informed choices regarding their birth.

Mothers discuss their experiences and concerns such as milk supply, pumping, going back to work, sleeping or lack of sleep, to name just a few.

We meet every Tuesday from 4-5 p.m. in the Capri Conference Room at Renown South Meadows Medical Center and now every Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon at The Lactation Connection at Renown Regional Medical Center.

Cancer Support Group @ Renown Regional Medical Center

This group is for patients and families facing cancer, and is facilitated by an Oncology Social Worker who is skilled in the emotional aspects of cancer.

Meeting format enables participants to share experiences and express feelings and concerns.

The support group meets weekly on Thursday, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Renown Regional Medical Center in the Roseview Tower, Third Floor Orthopedic Conference Room.

Baby and Family Suites Tour @ Renown Regional Medical Center

This tour includes a visit to our luxurious Baby & Family Suites, labor and delivery rooms, our new Labor Assessment Area and the William N. Pennington Nursery. You’ll also learn more about the pre-admission process, where to check-in and what to expect during your visit.

This event will take place at Renown Regional Medical Center on the second floor of the Sierra Tower at Labor and Delivery. In order to attend, you must receive confirmation in order to attend all classes and tours.

Childbirth Education (All in a day) @ Renown Regional Medical Center, Mack Auditorium

This is an “All in a day” Childbirth Education Course that will help empower women and their partners to make more informed choices during labor and birth. This class was designed for busy parents who are short on time, but still want to learn valuable and crucial information before baby arrives.

This class will include detailed discussions about : Anatomical and physiological changes of pregnancy, signs of labor/when to call the doctor, stages of labor and delivery, internal and external fetal heart monitoring, medications used in labor and delivery, cesarean delivery, relaxation, comfort measures, labor support and breathing. This class covers everything you will need to know from the early days before labor begins to the birth of your baby and postpartum.
We believe that childbirth is normal and our goal is to educate, empower and build confidence in your ability to give birth.

It is with a wide range of knowledge skill and experience that our certified educators (through ICEA) can help support women and their families make the most informed choices regarding their birth.
