What supporting documentation do I need to submit?
Along with the benefits enrollment form, include a marriage certificate if adding a spouse, and/or birth certificates, if adding children. Without these documents, dependents cannot be added to health insurance.

Can my spouse be covered?
Yes, a legal spouse can be enrolled in medical benefits if they are not offered group health coverage through their employer. Complete a spouse affidavit online to add your spouse. Legal spouses can also be enrolled in other benefits including dental, life insurance, accidental death & dismemberment, critical illness and/or accident.

When is vacation time available to me?
Annual leave time is available on day one of employment. Annual leave is subject to prior approval from the person to whom an employee reports and is granted according to the needs of the department.

When is sick time available to me?
Sick time is calculated at the close of a pay period and available for use in the following pay period. To use sick leave pay, employees must appropriately notify the person to whom he/she reports.

What does exempt and non-exempt mean?
Employees are classified as exempt or nonexempt based on their job categories and duties performed. Exempt employees are exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standards Act because they meet the specific criteria for exemption. Nonexempt employees are subject to wage and hour laws, such as overtime pay. Nonexempt employees must clock in and out to record their time worked.
