Welcome to Renown! We are excited you have join the team. New Employee Orientation is designed to orient you to the structure and culture of our organization and provide you with the resources you need as you begin your new position. The information below will help answer some of the common questions new employees may have during their first weeks.

What do I do after my appointment at Occupational Health?
Pending your Occupational Health testing results, you are ready to attend orientation and start working! We encourage you to browse the rest of the New Hire Portal to learn more about Renown Health. If you have any questions prior to starting, please contact your Recruiter or email HRRepresentatives@renown.org.

How do I complete my onboarding paperwork?
You can access your new hire paperwork by logging into your profile at careers.renown.org. Paperwork needs to be completed within 7 days of receiving it, unless otherwise discussed with your Recruiter. The background check information is sent in a separate link and needs to be completed as soon as you receive it.

What is the New Employee Orientation dress code?
Please wear professional business attire to New Employee Orientation.

What is my orientation schedule?
New employees attend New Employee Orientation on their first day of employment and Living Our Values on their second day of employment. Employees who will be working in an in-patient environment also attend Patient Care Orientation on day three of employment. Depending on the position, Patient Care Orientation may be a half or full day. If a position requires training on the electronic medical record system, employees will also be scheduled for EPIC training. A schedule for these training sessions is posted at New Employee Orientation.

Where do I go after orientation?
Each employee’s work schedule will vary. After your scheduled orientation and EPIC training, you will report to work in your department. Your leader (direct supervisor) maintains your training schedule in the department. You can find your leader’s contact information on the training schedule posted at New Employee Orientation.

How am I paid for my time while at New Employee Orientation?
Employees are paid for eight hours of time for New Employee Orientation. These hours are added to your timecard by payroll. Beginning on day two of orientation, you need to track your time on a Time Bank Adjustment form or clock in using a time clock. You submit Time Bank Adjustment forms to your leader and your leader will manually adjust your timecard.

I did not receive the initial email to access the Smart Scrubs website to order uniforms. What do I do?
Call or email your recruiter to get the link resent to you.

Where are the training rooms for EPIC (electronic medical records system)?
The training rooms for EPIC(EMR) classes are at Renown Regional Medical Center. There is a map of the Regional campus as well as directions to the EPIC training rooms at New Employee Orientation, available on the back table, and a downloadable PDF map on the Campus Locations page.

Who is my leader?
When you hear the term leader, it is referring to the person to whom you directly report. Your leader’s contact information is included in your offer letter from Recruitment.

How do I clock in and out?
During orientation, employees are instructed how to log time worked. Nonexempt employees used their identification badges to record time worked in Kronos, the timekeeping system. Nonexempt employees must swipe their badges through a time bank reader each workday when the shift begins and ends. Employee who do not have access to a timeclock register their time via MyTimestamp.

Where should I park once I’m at my department?
Parking maps are available for Renown Regional Medical Center and Renown South Meadows Medical Centers campuses on the back table at New Employee Orientation. For other locations or specific parking questions, check with your leader once you report to your department.

Where do I pick up my first paycheck?
The first paycheck after day one of employment will be a paper check, even if you have already signed up for direct deposit. Check with your leader on where to pick up your first paycheck.

How do I sign up for direct deposit?
Employees can enroll in direct deposit online through Kronos. Instructions are included in the new hire packet you receive on the first day of orientation.

When can I access Kronos from home or the mobile app?
You are able to access Kronos beginning the second day of employment.

Who can help me with computer/log information?
Your leader will have your specific log on credentials to the computer and systems you will need for your job. If you have any questions or technical issues, call the Help Desk at 775-982-4042.

How can I update my address?
Log in to Kronos and navigate to the Employee Home page link. There is a section titled Personal Information. Click the Contact link under that section to edit your address.
