Facilitated by a prostate cancer survivor, this no-cost support group is designed to help men cope with prostate cancer by offering education and support for patients during their cancer journey. Details: Both in-person and virtual groups are available.  Video-enabled attendance is available for all attendees.  Patients can access remotely and join from any video-enabled device (smartphone, iPad, laptop, or webcam/desktop).  Upon registering, you will receive instructions on how to connect virtually.  Groups will be held every first and third Monday of each month, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. in the Sierra Tower – Conference Room 103 at Renown Regional Hospital.  Please note: You can renew registrations every calendar year. July Guest Speaker Spotlight: Renown Heart Device Clinic Coordinator Discusses Commonly Implanted Heart Devices Topic: Join us for an enlightening session with Terri, our Device Clinic Coordinator at Renown, as she sheds light on a range of commonly implanted heart devices, including pacemakers and AICDs (Automatic Implantable Cardiac Defibrillators). Meet and get to know the Cardiovascular Quality Team from the Renown Institute for Heart & Vascular Health on the second Tuesday of every month from 2-3 p.m. This group is open to all cardiovascular patients and their families. Learn about managing and living with cardiovascular issues in a supportive group environment. Virtual attendees will receive instructions on how to join the meeting the day before the event. Complimentary refreshments and informative materials will be provided!

This class is for anyone who has undergone or is undergoing breast cancer treatment and will focus on lymphedema education and reducing the risk of its occurrence. During the class, we will review the basic anatomy of the lymphatic system and define common procedures performed during the treatment course for breast cancer that affects lymphatics. Risk reduction strategies, including compression sleeves, will be reviewed in addition to the typical presentation of early lymphedema. Finally, a brief description of Axillary Web Syndrome will also be reviewed, and basic stretches/exercises to implement if cording is present.

This support group will be held virtually only for this date. In person will resume next week.
