Renown Institute for Cancer offers one-hour weekly classes to newly diagnosed breast cancer patients and their families. Classes are facilitated by an oncology nurse navigator, social worker, physical therapist and surgical nurses. In this class you will: • Meet your navigator and learn about cancer support services available to you • Hear about pre-surgery instructions and your pre-admit appointment • Receive education in prehabilitation and lymphedema prevention • Have your questions answered about treatment, including chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy and clinical trials Video enabled attendance is available. Join us for our free virtual Smoking Cessation 4-week program courtesy of Renown Health. This class is available to all who want to learn the risks of smoking and the benefits of quitting. In addition, participants will learn about their triggers to smoking, ways to cope while quitting, and available products to assist with becoming tobacco-free. This program begins on the 1st Wednesday of each month and will meet every Wednesday for four weeks from 4 to 5 p.m. Upon registering, you will receive instructions on virtually connecting 1-2 days before the class.

Find peace, healing and calm during the Mantras and Meditation practice session offered by Rev. Shelley Fisher of Reno Buddhist Center. Classes are every third Wednesday of the month from 11:15-11:45 a.m. No RSVP is required to attend. Questions? Employees, patients and their loved ones are invited and all levels of meditation practitioners are welcome. Rev. Shelley Fisher is a resident priest at the Reno Buddhist Center. She has been chanting and meditating for many years and is excited to share this beautiful practice with the wider community through Renown Health’s Spiritual Center. Mantras and Meditation will live stream from the Reno Buddhist Center livestream page on their website.
