Renown Institute for Cancer offers one-hour weekly classes to newly diagnosed breast cancer patients and their families. Classes are facilitated by an oncology nurse navigator, social worker, and surgical nurses. In this class you will: • Meet your navigator and learn about cancer support services available to you • Hear about pre-surgery instructions and your pre-admit appointment • Receive education in prehabilitation and lymphedema prevention • Have your questions answered about treatment, including chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy and clinical trials Video enabled attendance is available. Patients can access remotely and join from any video-enabled device (smart phone, iPad, laptop or webcam/desktop). Upon registering, you will receive instructions on how to virtually connect. Please note: Masks are required to enter the hospital and while navigating to and from your class. Once inside your classroom, masks will be optional to wear during your class.

Attend this virtual workshop to learn mind-body techniques to help you feel more connected and joyful in life as you move beyond the cancer. This workshop includes: Emphasizing the importance of identifying resistance. Moving through resistance by understanding the concepts of acceptance and surrender. Identifying goals and visions. Creating action steps to help break patterns, to help you stay in a healthier mindset and feel calmer. There is no charge to attend this class. Video enabled attendance is available. This 5-week childbirth preparation meets for five consecutive weeks, preparing mom and her partner for the many aspects of childbirth and beyond. This class allows you a forum to ask questions and help you make informed decisions regarding your baby’s birth. Topics include: Healthy developments in your pregnancy Stages of labor Warning signs Breathing and relaxation techniques Comfort measures Role of the support person and labor support Birth planning How to tell when you are in labor Pain relief options during labor/medical procedures How a birth doula can help Cesarean birth Postpartum adjustments Please note: This class does not include a Baby and Family Suites Tour. All of our instructors are certified educators who will offer you support and guidance through education in a very unique way that will meet your individual needs. We believe that childbirth is a process, not a method and we recognize that there is no one right way to give birth. To attend, please register using the expecting mother’s name and information. Facilitated by a prostate cancer survivor, this support group is designed to help men cope with prostate cancer by offering education and support for patients during their cancer journey. Now offering the group both in-person and virtual. Video enabled attendance is available for all attendees. The American Heart Association Family & Friends “Infant CPR and Choking” (birth to one year) course is for those who want to learn infant CPR but do NOT need a course completion card in CPR for their job. This course is ideal for schools and students, new parents, grandparents, babysitters and others interested in learning how to save a life. Skills are taught in a dynamic group environment using the AHA’s research-proven “practice-while-watching” technique, which provides students with the most hands-on CPR practice time possible.
