With Renown Health Prayer Partners Every Friday ◦ 9:30 – 9:45 AM Estelle J. Kelsey Interfaith Sanctuary ◦ Renown Regional Medical Center Facilitated by: Spiritual Care Team The importance of your prayers and reflections for those in need cannot be overemphasized. We continue to send out prayer requests from patients and family as they are received by email to the Renown Health Prayer Partners. Every Friday, the Spiritual Care team leads a brief devotional for prayers and intercessions for those who have requested support. All the prayer partners are invited to participate! While we use the word “prayer” for the custom of interceding on behalf of others for their health, please know that participation is not restricted to any one faith or tradition or to any one manner or method. Each person, according to their own personal belief or practice, may be part of the process of sharing words and thoughts as they ask for healing. Prayer, mediation, reflection, contemplation, recitation, chanting, reading — these and more – are all ways to intercede. Requesting a prayer or intercession: If you’d like to request a prayer be sent out on behalf of any patient, friend, family member or for anyone else in the community in need, please know that you are welcome to do so.  You can do so by submitting a prayer card. Prayer cards are available at prayer boxes and in the Spiritual Center for your use. Cards are also available in the Care Coordination offices on units. Attend this virtual workshop and learn mind-body techniques to help with reducing anxiety, feeling calmer, visualizing your treatment in a healing way and enhancing healing through activities that will bring you relief. This workshop includes: Helping patients feel more connected.  Helping to reduce fight/flight response and helping patients feel more at ease. Explaining how stress impacts our bodies and our role in taking responsibility as a partner in recovery. A mindfulness relaxation session. Giving patients the opportunity to express concerns over their side effects and re-framing that they can have a different experience. Open time for questions and answers. This workshop includes: Identifying and talking about fears, resistance and frustrations. Creating end results to help them re-frame the discussion. Learning tools to help identify needs and wants; being able to ask for them so you can refuel and become more available to yourself and your loved ones for the long haul. Space is limited for this event and registration is required. This workshop is focused on understanding and completing a Nevada Durable Power of Attorney of Healthcare, also known as an Advance Directive. What to expect: A brief presentation about the document, its contents and purpose. Time for questions. Staff will be on hand to assist with document completion. Notary will be present for notarization. Participants may have their document uploaded into their Renown electronic medical record and/or submitted to the Nevada Living Will Lockbox on their behalf. Please come prepared with; names, addresses and phone numbers of those you want to appoint in the document and a photo ID if notarization is desired. All required paperwork will be provided by our staff. There is no charge to attend this workshop, and please wear a mask.
