We continue to send out prayer requests from patients and family as they are received by email to the Renown Health Prayer Partners. Every Friday, the Spiritual Care team leads a brief devotional for prayers and intercessions for those who have requested support. All the prayer partners are invited to participate! While we use the word “prayer” for the custom of interceding on behalf of others for their health, please know that participation is not restricted to any one faith or tradition or to any one manner or method. Each person, according to their own personal belief or practice, may be part of the process of sharing words and thoughts as they ask for healing. Prayer, mediation, reflection, contemplation, recitation, chanting, reading — these and more – are all ways to intercede. Requesting a prayer or intercession: If you’d like to request a prayer be sent out on behalf of any patient, friend, family member or for anyone else in the community in need, please know that you are welcome to do so.  You can do so by submitting a prayer card. Prayer cards are available at prayer boxes and in the Spiritual Center for your use. Cards are also available in the Care Coordination offices on units. Joint pain can affect all aspects of life, so if you’re considering total joint replacement surgery, these classes taught by the experts at Renown Health will help you with the following: Understand your procedure, including basic anatomy and explanation of surgical intervention. Prepare for surgery, including home setup, preoperative and pre-admit appointments. Know about your hospital stay, including infection prevention, early mobility, physical and occupational therapy, and adaptive equipment. Learn what happens after surgery, including recovery, medical management, post-operative therapy and exercises, to help you return to your normal activities. We highly encourage you to bring a “surgery buddy” for support.

Led by Renown’s Bariatric Program Manager, this group connects you with peers and leaders so you can support, coach, encourage and lean on one another when you need it most. Whether you are facing post-surgery challenges or thinking about weight loss surgery and want to learn more about the client’s perspective or help reluctant family and friends better understand the process, attending this support group meeting can be invaluable. This support group is an excellent resource where you’ll find people who share your health and wellness goals. We are devoted to people with everyday experiences, sharing their feelings in a safe environment, and developing relationships that can contribute to improved physical and emotional health. We’ve found that our most successful clients attend support groups regularly. Video enabled attendance is available. Patients can access remotely and join from any video-enabled device (smart phone, iPad, laptop, or webcam/desktop). Upon registering, you will receive instructions on how to virtually connect. There is no charge to attend this class.
