This class is designed for expectant parents to gain knowledge on current research and recommendations, which promote necessary infant health, wellness and safety. Parents-to-be will learn how to care for their newborn, including bathing, diapering, cord care, signs of illness, nutrition, feeding, infant safety, understanding newborn behavior along with growth and development. Please Note: Masks are required to enter the hospital and while navigating to and from your class(s). Once inside your classroom, masks will be optional to wear during your class. Designed for busy parents, this all-in-one-day Childbirth Education Course will help prepare mom and her partner for the many aspects of childbirth. You’ll learn the many facets of delivery, with the opportunity to ask questions helping you make informed decisions about critical issues surrounding your baby’s birth. Some topics include: Healthy developments in your pregnancy Stages of labor Warning signs Breathing and relaxation techniques Comfort measures Role of the support person and labor support Birth planning How to tell when you are in labor Pain relief options during labor/medical procedures How a birth doula can help Cesarean birth and Postpartum All of our instructors are certified educators who will offer you support and guidance through education in a unique way to meet your individual needs. We believe that childbirth is a process, not a method, and we recognize that there is no one right way to give birth. * Note: This class will not include a Baby and Family Suites Tour. Dr. Joseph D’Angelo, has been an advocate for the disadvantaged and those in need since 1989. Ordained in 1993 as a nondenominational minister, he is the founder and President of Living Water Ministries (dba Joshua’s Community) since 1995, whose mission and purpose is to take care of people of all ages, ethnicities and those in need throughout the United States and the world. Today, Joshua’s Community has helped thousands of individuals globally and in the US, from all ages and careers, with two orphanages currently underway. He has served as a Hospice Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator for the past six years in Reno, Nevada. His current goal is to help those suffering through grief in partnership with the Renown Health Spiritual Center, as well as to offer his services as a volunteer chaplain to the Spiritual Care department.
