Ordained in 1993 as a nondenominational minister, he is the founder and President of Living Water Ministries (dba Joshua’s Community) since 1995, whose mission and purpose is to take care of people of all ages, ethnicities and those in need throughout the United States and the world. Today, Joshua’s Community has helped thousands of individuals globally and in the US, from all ages and careers, with two orphanages currently underway. He has served as a Hospice Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator for the past six years in Reno, Nevada. His beliefs are simple, “God did not create religion but rather relationship,” and the Study of Scripture has been by religious interpretation rather than a non-religious translation. His current goal is to help those suffering through grief and to teach a study of Christian Scripture in partnership with the Renown Health Spiritual Center, as well as to offer his services as a volunteer chaplain to the Spiritual Care department. Renown Spiritual Center offers free weekly yoga classes at home for Sterling Silver Club members or anyone on their wellness journey. Lead by mother-daughter duo Liz and Cadye; you’ll discover the benefits of yoga, such as improved mobility, balance, strength, and mood, with modified movements for all abilities. All yoga skill levels are welcome! Note: Please submit the below registration/consent form for the date you would like to start attending yoga. You will only need to register one time to attend this weekly class. Once you register, we will email the Zoom link each Friday before class. The Silver Plate Cooking series is dedicated to providing a fun class, filled with opportunities to learn how to improve and maintain our health through nutrition. This class now takes place in-person and virtual. Attend and learn from Andria Herron, Dietary Educator with Renown Healthy Heart Program who will show us how to make healthy and satisfying meals each month. Meet our newest yoga instructor for our Wednesday Wellness Yoga series, Katie Louvat who is teaching Sterling Silver Club members Intermediate and Beginning Yoga every 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesday from 4-5 p.m. Intermediate Yoga is a friendly, and meditative practice designed to develop flexibility and strength, and to deepen your awareness of body, mind and breath.  This class reflects the instructor’s fascination with anatomy and bio-mechanics and her commitment to teaching movement that is accessible, functional, compassionate and sustainable. Required props: yoga mat, two blocks, a blanket or two, a strap or tie, a ball for self-massage (pinky balls or tennis balls work well). The Yoga Center provides props for in-person students. Students are welcome to bring their own to the studio if that feels more comfortable. RSVP required. Choose from in-person or virtual: Virtual Instructions: Once you register, we’ll email the Zoom link. The Zoom link will be the same each week with reminder emails two days before class. Every Friday, the Spiritual Care team leads a brief devotional for prayers and intercessions for those who have requested support. All the prayer partners are invited to participate! While we use the word “prayer” for the custom of interceding on behalf of others for their health, please know that participation is not restricted to any one faith or tradition or to any one manner or method. Each person, according to their own personal belief or practice, may be part of the process of sharing words and thoughts as they ask for healing. Prayer, mediation, reflection, contemplation, recitation, chanting, reading — these and more – are all ways to intercede. This workshop is focused on understanding and completing a Nevada Durable Power of Attorney of Healthcare, also known as an Advance Directive. What to expect: A brief presentation about the document, its contents and purpose. Time for questions. Staff will be on hand to assist with document completion. Notary will be present for notarization. Participants may have their document uploaded into their Renown electronic medical record and/or submitted to the Nevada Living Will Lockbox on their behalf. Please come prepared with; names, addresses and phone numbers of those you want to appoint in the document and a photo ID if notarization is desired. All required paperwork will be provided by our staff. There is no charge to attend this workshop, and please wear a mask.
