The American Heart Association Family & Friends “Infant CPR and Choking” (birth to one year) course is for those who want to learn infant CPR but do NOT need a course completion card in CPR for their job. This course is ideal for schools and students, new parents, grandparents, babysitters and others interested in learning how to save a life. Skills are taught in a dynamic group environment using the AHA’s research-proven “practice-while-watching” technique, which provides students with the most hands-on CPR practice time possible. Please Note: Masks are required to enter the hospital and while navigating to and from your class(s). Once inside your classroom, masks will be optional to wear during your class.

We continue to send out prayer requests from patients and family as they are received by email to the Renown Health Prayer Partners. Every Friday, the Spiritual Care team leads a brief devotional for prayers and intercessions for those who have requested support. All the prayer partners are invited to participate! While we use the word “prayer” for the custom of interceding on behalf of others for their health, please know that participation is not restricted to any one faith or tradition or to any one manner or method. Each person, according to their own personal belief or practice, may be part of the process of sharing words and thoughts as they ask for healing. Prayer, mediation, reflection, contemplation, recitation, chanting, reading — these and more – are all ways to intercede. Requesting a prayer or intercession: If you’d like to request a prayer be sent out on behalf of any patient, friend, family member or for anyone else in the community in need, please know that you are welcome to do so.  You can do so by submitting a prayer card. Prayer cards are available at prayer boxes and in the Spiritual Center for your use. Cards are also available in the Care Coordination offices on units. Prepare for surgery, including home setup, preoperative and pre-admit appointments. Know about your hospital stay, including infection prevention, early mobility, physical and occupational therapy, and adaptive equipment. Learn what happens after surgery, including recovery, medical management, post-operative therapy and exercises, to help you return to your normal activities. We highly encourage you to bring a “surgery buddy” for support.
