Position Purpose

This position conducts daily operations and management of all Renown Imaging Nuclear Medicine Departments. This position supervises Nuclear Medicine technologists and provides leadership, financial management and assures high standards of customer service and technological quality.

In addition, the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor will be responsible, in conjunction with the Chief Radiation Safety Officer, for the administration of radioactive materials license, quality control and radiation safety in Nuclear Medicine. The Nuclear Medicine Supervisor is accountable to reduce operational risk for the Nuclear Medicine setting by providing radiation compliance oversight of operations to ensure regulatory

Nature and Scope

As a management team member, the Supervisor exercises sound financial management of Renown Health’s resources by limiting expenses and maximizing revenue. The incumbent balances scheduling in all Renown Imaging Nuclear Medicine Departments to provide optimal labor expense to customer service ratio.

This position communicates regularly with department management teams, monitors Nuclear Medicine staff activities to assure compliance with department regulations and goals, assures that Nuclear Medicine exam quality meets radiologist standards and monitors activities of systems repair persons, assures that planned maintenance occurs and that emergency repairs are affected as needed.

The Supervisor maintains documentation and assures that department policies/procedures and exam procedure protocols are updated regularly, ensures staff and equipment licensures are current and addresses and rectifies any regulatory concerns/issues. In this leadership position, the incumbent determines the best method of obtaining optimal examinations while ensuring patient safety; regulates patient flow through the scanners; consults with radiologists to determine contrast media applications or variances in established procedures; continually evaluates exam quality and makes necessary corrections to improve image quality.

This position may be required to work overtime, and is required to work in a technologist role which includes technological, patient care and clerical duties. The incumbent provides imaging services to patients of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric ages. Must demonstrate the ability to work with the patient’s physical, motor or sensory adaptation, cognitive and psycho-social needs specific to the population being served, and meets the standards of quality as measured by the department competency with special population standards.

This position does provide patient care.

Description
Education:
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Appropriate education to obtain and maintain Nuclear Medicine Technologist registration. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree will be given preference.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Experience with radiation safety office procedures required. Applicants with supervisory experience in Nuclear Medicine will be given preference.
License(s):
Current license from ARRT or NMTCB. State of Nevada license for Medical Radiography required.
Certification(s):
Ability to obtain AHA CPR certification within 30 of employment
Computer / Typing:
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
