Position Purpose:
The Infrastructure Architect has the mandate to ensure IT infrastructure services and technology (e.g., network, servers, VoIP, WAN, LAN) are securely and properly integrated to optimize cost and service delivery in alignment with the strategic direction of the enterprise. This position will deliver integration across cloud and on-premise solutions to facilitate cost effective and efficient process orchestration for business optimization and agility. Other key responsibilities include:
  • Provide senior level expertise on decisions and priorities regarding the enterprises overall systems architecture
  • Establish, implement and maintain standards that guide the design and implementation of technology solutions requiring integration of multiple platforms and operating systems across the enterprise
  • Educate enterprise information system individuals and teams on the need for consistent standards for technology systems and platforms
  • Review, advise and design standard and repeatable hardware builds, systems options, risks, costs versus benefits and impact on the enterprise business processes and goals
  • Develop and document the framework for integration and implementation of changes to technical standards in support of a consistent technology architecture
  • Develop, implement and manage a technical architecture governance process
  • Provide technical guidance to project teams as appropriate
  • Track industry trends and maintain knowledge of new technologies to better serve the enterprise's architecture needs
  • Create and maintain technology roadmaps to ensure the enterprise's systems and platform stay current with vendor product roadmaps and upgrades
Nature and Scope:
  1. Develops, coordinates and plans for the enterprise's technology architecture strategy including the integration of IT services across multiple environments and platforms (e.g., cloud, on-premise, co-location).
  2. Provides reports to superiors regarding effectiveness of infrastructure and makes recommendations for the adoption of new procedures.
  3. Optimizes the delivery of infrastructure services at the enterprise level to realize an integrated (business/technology) strategy.
  4. Demonstrates the level of alignment between strategic goals and key technology decisions.
  5. Applies a structured integration architecture approach and methodology for capturing the key views of the business and IT in the context of the enterprise.
  6. Enumerates, analyzes, catalogs, and suggests improvements to the strategic, core, and support service integration processes of the enterprise, as needed, to support strategic and operational goals.
  7. Leads senior management through the development of a service integration architecture plan for the enterprise
  8. Evaluates and presents information that will facilitate effective and timely decision-making through written and oral communication that effectively summarizes findings with recommendations.
  9. Creates technical process models/flows that show technical integration points between systems, platforms and solutions.
  10. Scans, evaluates, selects, and integrates new technologies and toolsets.
  11. Understands, advocates, and supports the enterprise's information technology strategies.
  12. Analyzes the current technology environment to detect deficiencies and recommends solutions for the improved uses of information technology.
  13. Integrates requirements, workflow, and logical processes with the hardware and operating system environment and interfaces between diverse systems.
  14. Participates in the recruitment and selection of certain high-level technical staff, develops and oversees training programs in tools and methodologies for development and infrastructure teams, and leads or manages special project teams as assigned.
  15. Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs
  16. Demonstrated expertise in project management, systems analysis, customer relations, and vendor contract negotiation and management.
  17. Extensive experience with developing strategic plans.
  18. Strong knowledge of hardware and software evaluation principles and practice.
  19. Proven project planning and management experience.
  20. Knowledge and experience regarding the practical application of security/risk concepts, standards, and regulations in the enterprise.
  21. Deep expertise around industry best practices in the various aspects of IT, technology trends, enterprise operations knowledge, and the ability to develop solutions to implement key business strategies.
  22. Strong technology research skillset with proven ability to architect and present technology alternatives based on scope-level business concepts.

Minimum Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Education:
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Bachelor's degree in CS/EE, or similar field is required or relevant experience may be substituted. Master's degree in CS/EE is preferred.
Experience:
  • Ten (10) years experience with information systems in a complex multi-platform environment.
  • Five years of management experience in an information systems department required.
  • Strong technology research skillset with proven ability to architect and present technology alternatives based on scope-level business concepts.\
  • Proven experience in systems design and development.
  • Strong understanding of information technology/processing principles and practices.
  • Hands-on experience integrating cloud-based services and with integration tools.
  • Extensive experience in service-oriented architecture.
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analyses, elicitation, modeling, verification and methodology development.
  • Excellent knowledge of database solutions, application services, application integration and architecture patterns.
  • Demonstrated expertise in a wide range of software development, client/server, relational database, systems integration, and networking technologies.
  • Familiar with a broad range of systems, API's, protocols, and standards, including but not limited to: Oracle, SQL, ODBC, HL-7, Java, JavaScript, HTML, HTTP, TCP/IP, Windows NT, LINUX, and UNIX.
  • Experience managing compliance efforts including HIPPA, PCI , and other related compliance agencies and implementing IT controls to ensure compliance and compliance testing.
