Position Purpose | |
This position is responsible for providing managing staff and clinical pharmaceutical care for ambulatory care patients across the continuum of care of Renown Health within established guidelines and statutory requirements. Additionally, this position is responsible for the administrative and clinical duties related to the operation of the Healthcare Center Pharmacy in accordance with federal and state law, Joint Commission standards, and Renown Health's philosophies, goals and objectives; and for planning, controlling, coordinating and measuring the work of this pharmacy.Incumbent will work with the county and/or other government agencies as needed to establish reimbursement programs and eligibility for patients as needed. | |
Nature and Scope: | |
This position is challenged to provide pharmaceutical care to each of its customers in drug information and drug therapy monitoring throughout the continuum of ambulatory clinical pharmacy practice within Renown Health. This position, manages the schedule for the anticoagulation service ensuring adequate staffing, evaluates staff, and participates in hiring new staff. This person sees patients on a regular basis. The position is responsible for managing the staff throughout the continuum of ambulatory clinical pharmacy operations within Renown Health; and to ensure the timely and accurate processing of all patient charges.The incumbent is responsible for ensuring excellent customer service for patients and physicians. The incumbent is challenged to assist in the training of pharmacists, residents, technicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacy interns, and students as well as the supervision of same, adherence to policy and procedure, and coordination of workload. The incumbent must be able to independently make key decisions for financial management, human resource management, quality management, medical staff relations, and quality of service strategies. The incumbent may be required to support the inpatient pharmacy, work varying shifts and days to meet the needs of the Department of Pharmacy which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. . The incumbent will work with other to ensure the financial goals for existing ambulatory clinical pharmacy operations, and to develop new service lines and grow the business. They are expected to participate in the annual budget process and operate within the budget. The incumbent is expected to attend on a regular basis staff meetings, pharmacist meetings, etc. This position does provide patient care. | |

Minimum Qualifications:Requirements - Required and/or Preferred | |
Education: | Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Completion of a Pharmacy Clinical Practice Residency or equivalent training program in clinical pharmacy is preferred. |
Experience: | At least five years hospital pharmacy experience is required. Management /supervisory experience required. |
License(s): | Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Pharmacist license upon hire |
Certification(s): | Ability to obtain and maintain a point of care testing certificate within 60 days of hire. Healthcare BLS and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within the first 90 days of Employment is required. |
Computer / Typing: | Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc. Type 25 WPM. |
