Position Purpose: |

This position assists with a variety of assigned projects under the guidance of senior staff. The position will develop an understanding of the assigned department and health care administration profession. |

Nature and Scope: |
|
Depending upon business needs, position may be exposed to a variety of business functions through project-based assignments. Senior staff will review and oversee any work product or project. Position will perform all aspects of assignments as needed. This position would allow an intern to make a genuine difference by aiding and growing the Renown Health Volunteer Program, which both interacts with and supports our patients, guests and employees in many capacities. This intern would be encouraged to learn the many intricacies of volunteer management, as well as have the opportunity to meet and interact with leaders and staff from departments throughout the network. By taking care to train adequately and provide tasks and projects that this person is excited about assisting with, we can grow their interest in healthcare and influence a future career at Renown Health.
A Volunteer Service intern would assist with projects such as: recruiting, onboarding and training new volunteers, setting up volunteer schedules, presenting to groups of interested volunteer applicants, assisting with specific volunteer program (i.e. High School program, Pet Therapy, etc.). Learning opportunities include: -Public speaking and presenting providing the opportunity to further develop communication skills and engage with audiences -Practice time management and multitasking -Assisting with recruiting allows an intern to develop confidence and active listening skills -Training new volunteers within the hospital will assist with expanding their professional network, knowledge of departments and leadership skills -People management – learning to provide direction and guidance for individuals donating their time

Minimum Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred |

Education: |
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Junior or Senior class standing in pursuit of bachelors in business, or MBA students. College-level knowledge of the English language, including the ability to read, write, and speak English at college level. |
Experience: |
Previous experience in a business environment helpful, but not necessary. |

Computer / Typing: |
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc. 40 WPM. |
