Renown Health and University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med)leadership provided an informational update to the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) Board of Regents at its March 5 meeting on the due diligence process undertaken by both organizations to explore an intent to affiliate that would lead to the first fully integrated health system in northern Nevada. The final agreement will require Renown Health Board and NSHE Board of Regent approval. Like many health care systems and medical schools across the nation, Renown Health and the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine have collaborated for decades to advance a mutual commitment to improving the health of the community. Since mid-2020, the organizations have been exploring formalizing a high-level clinical integration. In September 2020, the NSHE Board of Regents unanimously endorsed a Letter of Intent between the two organizations, which advanced a period of due diligence to further define the relationship. Flatbed concert by power house group Jelly Bread set to commemorate this monumental gift from the Robert and Dorothy Keyser Foundation. Renown Health Foundation announced today that the LOVE sculpture, a one-ton, welded aluminum artwork with letters 10-feet tall and eight-feet wide, has found a permanent home at Renown Regional Medical Center’s main entrance thanks to a donation from the Robert and Dorothy Keyser Foundation. To celebrate, Renown has partnered with Carson City’s Brewery Arts Center to bring music to the people of 89502with a flat bed concert by the nationally-touring band and Jelly Bread. The concert will be tonight from 5-8 p.m. and the truck will stop at various locations near the LOVE sculpture, playing feel-good, urban sounds of funk and rock. Three Los Angeles teens rallied their high school classmates to raise funds and donate more than 1,300 face masks for Renown Health employees.  While many teens reflected on missed milestones like prom and graduation that didn’t happen as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, three high school seniors from Los Angeles felt inspired to make a difference. Friends Jessica Gestetner, Amanda Rosenthal and Katherine Konvitz organized a fundraising campaign with their classmates and purchased over 1,300 face masks for staff at Renown Health.  “My friends and I wanted to help our doctors and nurses because they are out saving lives while we are all fortunate enough to remain at home and healthy,” said Gestetner “We raised over $3,500 and spent it buying KN-95 masks for the heroes at Renown. This was our way of thanking all the healthcare workers for their selfless service.”  Why did these LA teens choose Renown Health for this donation?
