Ticket includes partner. This class helps prepare parents for emergencies that may occur in baby’s first year. Along with car seat safety and basic baby proofing, discussion will include prevention and treatment of common injuries. Students will also learn and practice the skills necessary to perform infant CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), as well as the skills necessary to assist a choking infant. The American Heart Association Family & Friends “Infant CPR and Choking” (birth to one year) course is for those who want to learn Infant CPR but do not need a course completion card in CPR for their job. Grandparents and other caregivers are welcome to attend. This class will include breastfeeding benefits and techniques, the physiology of making milk, positioning and latch, how to know baby is getting enough milk, keeping up your milk supply, where to go for help, learn about our lactation consultants and breastfeeding forums. Pump rentals and a visit to our Lactation Connection resource center are also included in this class. Partners are encouraged to attend. A 30 minute lunch break is included in this class. Renown Institute for Cancer offers one-hour weekly classes to newly diagnosed breast cancer patients and their families. These insightful classes are facilitated by oncology nurse navigators, social workers and surgical nurses. In this class, you will: • Meet your navigator and learn about cancer support services available to you • Hear about pre-surgery instructions and your pre-admit appointment • Receive education in rehabilitation and lymphedema • Have your questions answered about treatment, including chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy and clinical trials Video-enabled attendance is available. Patients can access remotely and join from any video-enabled device (smartphone, iPad, laptop or webcam/desktop). Upon registering, you will receive instructions on how to connect virtually.

This support group provides support, education, networking, and resource materials to caregivers coping with a loved one diagnosed with cancer. In effort to provide the most supportive atmosphere for those caring for loved one dealing with cancer, this group is for current cancer caregivers only. Would you please join us for Renown Health’s free one-hour virtual class for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) education? Our goal is to give you the knowledge to better manage your COPD by increasing your understanding of the disease process, medications and how to use them and creating an action plan you can use every day. This program is offered on the 4th Wednesday of each month and will meet from 3 to 4 p.m. Upon registering, you will receive instructions on virtually connecting 1 day before the class.

This group is for all patients facing cancer. The meeting enables participants to share experiences and express feelings and concerns. All cancer patients, family members, survivors, and caregivers are welcome to attend. Meets weekly on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in person and virtually. Optimizing Movement: The Role of Nutrition in Managing Parkinson’s Disease At this quarter’s Parkinson’s Power Hour, our dietician and rehab therapists will cover: brief overview of Parkinson’s Disease medications used in treatment of Parkinson’s Disease nutritional management of dysphagia, constipation, nausea, GERD protein sensitivity and appropriate protein distribution supplements nutrition and exercise

Ticket includes partner. Designed for busy parents, this all-in-one-day Childbirth Education Course will help prepare mom and her partner for the many aspects of childbirth. You’ll learn the many facets of delivery, with the opportunity to ask questions, helping you make informed decisions about critical issues surrounding your baby’s birth. Topics include: Healthy developments in your pregnancy Stages of labor Warning signs Breathing and relaxation techniques Comfort measures Role of the support person and labor support Birth planning How to tell when you are in labor Pain relief options during labor/medical procedures How a birth doula can help Cesarean birth and Postpartum Our certified instructors will offer you support and guidance through education uniquely to meet your individual needs. We believe that childbirth is a process, not a method, and we recognize that there is no one right way to give birth. To attend, please register using the expecting mother’s name and information.
