This support group provides support, education, networking, and resource materials to caregivers coping with a loved one diagnosed with cancer. In effort to provide the most supportive atmosphere for those caring for loved one dealing with cancer, this group is for current cancer caregivers only. If you have lost a loved one to cancer, there are these groups available for support: Grief Support Groups in Reno If you have cancer, Renown offers the following support groups: Cancer Support Group Men’s Prostate Cancer Support Group Newly Diagnosed Breast Cancer Orientation Class Lymphedema Education & Risk Reduction Class *Virtual attendance is available. Breastfeeding Circle Gatherings are a great place for breastfeeding moms to find support, exchange experiences, and discuss any concerns. Popular topics include: Milk supply Pumping Returning to work Sleeping, or lack of sleep Weight checks Weighted feedings And more! Class fee includes partner. This class helps prepare parents for emergencies that may occur in baby’s first year. Along with car seat safety and basic baby proofing, discussion will include prevention and treatment of common injuries. Students will also learn and practice the skills necessary to perform infant CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), as well as the skills necessary to assist a choking infant. The American Heart Association Family & Friends “Infant CPR and Choking” (birth to one year) course is for those who want to learn Infant CPR but do not need a course completion card in CPR for their job. Grandparents and other caregivers are welcome to attend. Space is limited for this event, and registration is required. This workshop is focused on understanding and completing a Nevada Durable Power of Attorney of Healthcare, also known as an Advance Directive. What to expect: A brief presentation about the document, its contents and purpose. Time for questions. Staff will be on hand to assist with document completion. A notary will be present for notarization. Participants may have their document uploaded into their Renown electronic medical record and/or submitted to the Nevada Living Will Lockbox on their behalf. Please come prepared with names, addresses, and phone numbers of those you want to appoint in the document and a photo ID if notarization is desired. All required paperwork will be provided by our staff.
