How to Help

Handcrafted Masks

Handcrafted Mask Drop-Off Information

UPDATE: After eight amazing weeks, the mask donation drive-thru event has officially ended. However, we will still continue to take donations through our main entrance at the Tahoe Tower of Renown Regional Medical Center. Please let the security staff know that you are dropping off donations for the mask donation drive and these items will be marked accordingly.

We are grateful for the community’s love and enthusiasm for sewing masks to help our care givers to Fight the Good Fight every day. We have received more than 10,000 community-crafted during our mask donation drive. This is remarkable and we are truly grateful. Below are updates on our handcrafted PPE needs.

  • Renown-Sanctioned Masks: Thank you for your patience and commitment to supporting our team. Currently we do not have any mask kits available. However, if you have the required materials, we encourage you to use our Renown-approved pattern and instructions.
  • Community Crafted Mask Covers: We continue to welcome community-crafted masks, in addition to the above mentioned Renown-sanctioned and surgical wrap masks. Your donations have been incredibly important for our care teams, as they are being used as N-95 mask covers to help preserve and protect our current supply of N-95 masks. All patterns and cotton or cotton-blends are welcome.
  • Surgical Caps: The pattern we are using for community-crafted surgical caps can be found here. At this time, we are unable to supply kits, but are welcoming donations.
  • Isolation Gowns: For community crafted isolation gowns, please use the Renown-approved pattern. At this time, we are unable to supply kits, but are welcoming donations.

NOTE: All handcrafted PPE will be laundered and sanitized before being distributed.
