About Pharmacy Services

The mission of Renown Regional Medical Center's Department of Pharmacy Services is to provide optimal pharmaceutical care through the safe, cost-effective use of medications and the achievement of favorable therapeutic outcomes.

Pharmacy Services at Renown Regional Medical center is a comprehensive department that provides services from a central pharmacy and 12 decentralized pharmacy satellites. We support an 808-bed hospital, over 900 physicians and various outpatient programs. Our staff consists of over 60 registered pharmacists of which over 45 are board certified, and over 70 pharmacy technicians. This system encompasses clinical specialties such as oncology, infectious diseases, ambulatory care, pediatrics, general medicine, critical care, cardiology, emergency medicine, surgical services, and nutrition.

From a technology standpoint, Renown’s Pharmacy Department is linked through the EPIC electronic medical record allowing pharmacists to access complete patient records at anytime, anywhere throughout the facility. We have bar coding automation dispensing in the central pharmacy and on the nursing units. We also utilize Omnicell automated medication dispensing system, the Exacta-Mix TPN compounder, and supportive software programs such as LexiComp, UpToDate, and Sanford Guide.
