Crisis Care Center Reopens with Hope and Support

When someone is facing a mental health emergency, they need a safe, calm place to go. The Renown Crisis Care Center is now open again—offering 24/7 support for adults in crisis who need help right away.
What the Crisis Care Center Offers
This center provides short-term care for adults (18 and older) who are struggling with a behavioral health issue like anxiety, depression, or substance use. It’s a peaceful place for people who don’t need emergency medical care but still need help fast.
Here, a team of doctors, nurses, therapists, and peer support specialists work together to:
- Help people feel safe and stable
- Provide mental health assessments
- Connect people to long-term care, therapy, or recovery services
- Offer support from people who’ve been through similar challenges
No insurance? No problem. Care is available for everyone, and financial help is offered to those who qualify.
Who Can Come?
Anyone 18 or older can come to the Crisis Care Center. Referrals are accepted from:
- The person needing help
- A family member or friend
- A healthcare provider
- First responders (like police or EMTs)
If someone does need emergency medical care, they will be safely taken to a hospital.
"Our communities in Nevada are experiencing a severe mental health crisis, with many struggling to access timely psychiatric care," said Brian Erling, MD, MBA, President & CEO of Renown Health." The need for immediate, specialized behavioral health services is urgent. We are proud to partner with the State of Nevada and Washoe County to establish the Renown Crisis Care Center in Sparks, providing compassionate, timely care for our community. Together, we are expanding resources and access to strengthen our mental health infrastructure, ensuring no one in crisis is left without support."
A New Way to Fund Mental Health Care
This center is funded through Nevada’s 988 Crisis Response Fee—a small phone line fee that supports mental health services in our state. Nevada is one of the first states to use this model to make sure help is always available when people need it most.
