What is Endocrinology?

Endocrinology refers to the study, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases related to the endocrine system and can help treat a broad range of hormonal disorders including childhood diabetes. Our Pediatric Endocrinology team is available to help patients with the following conditions (among others):

  • Adrenal glands disorders
  • Adrenoleukodystrophy
  • Bone and mineral disorders
  • Childhood obesity
  • Diabetes types 1 and 2
  • Growth disorders
  • Multiple endocrine neoplasia, type 1 (MEN 1) and type 2 (MEN 2)
  • Pituitary disorders
  • Puberty disorders
  • Thyroid disorders
  • Transgender care

 
Consultations are provided in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Referrals are required for consultations.
