Dolan Pulmonary Rehabilitation program at Renown South Meadows Medical Center by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). AACVPR certification demonstrates that an organization's Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is aligned with current guidelines set by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation for appropriate and effective early outpatient care of patients with cardiac or pulmonary issues. Certification offers peace of mind, so that patients can feel confident in knowing that staff has the experience and skills necessary to coordinate the many issues faced by people receiving a life-changing cardiac or pulmonary diagnosis. American Heart Association award recognizes commitment of Renown’s skilled care team to provide quality stroke care. Renown Regional Medical Center staff have once again received the American Heart Association (AHA)/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes the care team’s commitment to ensuring patients who experience a stroke receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence. Caregivers at Renown earned this prestigious award by meeting specific quality achievement measures for the diagnosis and treatment of patients who suffer a stroke. These measures include evaluation of the proper use of medications and other stroke treatments aligned with the most up-to-date, evidence-based guidelines with the goal of speeding recovery and reducing death and disability for patients. Before being released from the hospital, patients also receive education on managing their health, a follow-up visit appointment, as well as other care transition interventions. “At Renown Health, we provide the highest level of care for people who experience strokes by implementing the American Heart Association’s Get with the Guidelines-Stroke initiative,” said Burton J. Tabaac, MD, director of the Comprehensive Stroke Center at Renown. “The tools and resources provided help us measure our success in meeting evidenced-based clinical guidelines developed to ensure patients can get back to doing what they love.” In addition, the Renown Regional Medical Center team received AHA’s Target: StrokeSM Elite Plus Honor Roll award.
