Who Qualifies for Weight-Loss Surgery?

You may be a candidate if you:

  • Are of between the ages 13 to 80. * Children and adolescents under the age of 18 are considered on individual basis.
  • Have a body mass index (BMI) of 35 kg/m2 or higher with obesity-related conditions such as Type 2 Diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or sleep apnea.
  • BMI of 40 kg/m2 and greater qualifies with or without other health issues.

Bariatric Surgery Options

  • Sleeve gastrectomy - Reduces stomach size to promote fullness.
  • Gastric bypass – Duodenal switch - Alters digestion to aid in weight loss.
  • Revision surgery – Modifies or corrects previous procedures, to improve weight loss or address complications.
