Today, Renown Health Foundation held an event to celebrate the 2025 fundraising achievements from local and national Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) partners. Renown Children’s Hospital, the region’s only dedicated pediatric hospital, is proud to be northern Nevada’s only CMN hospital. The event, titled Together for Tomorrow, brought together CMN business leaders, philanthropists and donors, Renown leaders, children’s hospital ambassadors and their families. During the annual event, representatives from Renown Health Foundation announced the total amount raised from CMN partners and programs in 2025: $1,311,302.27.

“Our mission as a not-for-profit academic health organization is made stronger by the support of thousands of local donors, community and Children’s Miracle Network partners,” said Brian Erling, MD, MBA, President and CEO, Renown Health. “Raising over $1 million to benefit our youngest patients is an incredible accomplishment and shows what we can achieve when the community comes together. These funds directly support lifesaving care, research, and programs to ensure that children and families have access to outstanding clinical care close to home.”

CMN Partners Raise Over $1 Million in 2025

The Together for Tomorrow event celebrated all the CMN retail, food service, school and hospitality partners that participated in a variety of initiatives to raise crucial funds for Renown Children’s Hospital in 2025, from encouraging customers to round up their change at the register to hosting student-led fundraising events. More information on Renown’s partnership with Children’s Miracle Network and a list of local and national Children’s Miracle Network partners can be found here.

“Many of the life-saving programs and state-of-the-art facilities we offer at Renown Children’s Hospital were made possible by our incredible Children’s Miracle Network partners,” said Kris Deeter, MD, MBA, FAAP, Physician-in-Chief at Renown Children’s Hospital and Chair of Pediatrics at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. “We are proud to have the opportunity to shine a spotlight on the life-changing care so many supporters have enabled us to provide across northern Nevada. The impact they’ve had on the lives of our patients and families is invaluable.”

Miracle Kids Represent Renown Children’s Hospital

Renown Health Foundation leaders unveiled the 2026 Renown Children’s Hospital Miracle Kids who will act as community ambassadors for the hospital throughout the year.

2026 Children's Miracle Network Champion Children

Three-year-old Lane was diagnosed with infant B-cell ALL leukemia, a rare form of blood cancer, at only eight months old. He spent many days at Renown Children’s Hospital receiving treatment and stayed brave through it all. In 2025, Lane rang the cancer-free bell on his third birthday. Now fully in his toddler years, Lane loves bouncing at the trampoline park, racing toy cars, singing along to “Old McDonald,” and snacking on chocolate.

10-year-old Gabe has been navigating gastrointestinal challenges for much of his life. After surgeries, infections, and long hospital stays, he still meets each day with a positive spirit. Gabe enjoys sharing his story, so other kids facing gastrointestinal challenges know they are not alone. When he’s feeling well, he loves roller-skating, building with Legos and snacking on cookies-and-cream ice cream.

“As healthcare professionals, we see firsthand how resilient children are despite the heaviest of obstacles; patients like Lane and Gabe inspire all of us,” said Paige McCall, Vice President of Women & Children’s Services at Renown Health. “Seeing them smile so brightly throughout every hospital stay, treatment and doctor’s visit continue to motivate our pediatric teams each day. Both boys are great examples of what it means to not only be a miracle but also inspire miracles in our community.”

Lane and Gabe were joined by CMN Champion Child LeAnne Wallace, who is serving as the face of Renown Children’s Hospital for Children’s Miracle Network.

How Donations Help

Renown Children’s Hospital is proud to be the only Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospital in northern Nevada, one of only 170 premier children’s hospitals in North America. Renown Health Foundation oversees the local CMN programs and its fundraising. Over the past 41 years of membership, CMN and local northern Nevada partners have raised over $20 million for Renown Children’s Hospital. In 2025, those donations went to equipment (63.93%), advancement services (18.03%), education (9.84%), patient services (6.56%) and charitable care (1.64%).

Donations to Renown Children’s Hospital and Children’s Miracle Network help expand pediatric care, so kids can receive expert care close to home. Support also makes Child Life services and small comforts possible, including headphones and games that bring moments of normalcy during long hospital stays while receiving lifesaving treatment.

Funds raised by CMN partners stay local to support children and families in our community. Your generous gift affords much-needed items to help our littlest patients cope with the potential stressors associated with hospitalization and illness.
