Study Information

Summary / Purpose

To find out if giving chemotherapy before surgery improves outcomes for people with high-risk retroperitoneal sarcoma, compared to surgery alone.

Study Type: Interventional
Accepts Healthy Volunteers: No

Who Can Participate

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Adults 18+ years of age
  • Diagnosed with retroperitoneal sarcoma, either dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDLPS) or leiomyosarcoma (LMS)
  • Considered high risk for recurrence
  • Eligible for curative-intent surgery
  • No metastatic disease

What's Involved

Participation in the study will include:
  • Surgery to remove the tumor
  • May receive preoperative chemotherapy before surgery
  • Regular follow-up visits to monitor for recurrence
  • Imaging and lab tests to monitor response to treatment
