Summary / Purpose

To find out if giving chemotherapy before surgery improves outcomes for people with high-risk retroperitoneal sarcoma, compared to surgery alone.

Study Type: Interventional

Accepts Healthy Volunteers: No

Who Can Participate

Eligibility Criteria:

Adults 18+ years of age
Diagnosed with retroperitoneal sarcoma, either dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDLPS) or leiomyosarcoma (LMS)
Considered high risk for recurrence
Eligible for curative-intent surgery
No metastatic disease

What's Involved

Participation in the study will include:

Surgery to remove the tumor
May receive preoperative chemotherapy before surgery
Regular follow-up visits to monitor for recurrence
Imaging and lab tests to monitor response to treatment
