Jim Barrett, PA-C is an experienced orthopedic Physician Assistant with more than 12 years of service at Renown Regional Medical Center, where he worked closely with the Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship Program. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with orthopedic surgeons, trauma team physicians and advanced practitioners, fellows, residents, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care for patients with complex musculoskeletal injuries and conditions.

Recently, Jim transitioned from the hospital setting to become part of the newly formed Renown Orthopedic Group, where he continues his commitment to delivering exceptional orthopedic care to the northern Nevada community. His clinical interests include orthopedic surgical intervention, joint injections, fracture management, postoperative care, and helping patients safely return to the activities that matter most to them.

Jim is passionate about providing empathetic, patient-centered care and believes that patient education and clear communication are key components of successful outcomes. He values building strong relationships with patients and guiding them through every stage of treatment and recovery.

Outside of medicine, Jim embraces an active lifestyle and enjoys taking full advantage of the outdoor opportunities throughout the Sierra Nevada. He is an avid skier and whitewater kayaker who appreciates the challenge and adventure of the natural world. A passionate traveler, Jim enjoys exploring new cultures and destinations around the globe with his family. Above all, he treasures spending time with his wife and their three children, who inspire his sense of adventure and keep him grounded in what matters most.
