Monaco Ridge Renown Assisted Living Facility to Close

22 residents transition from South Meadows Medical Center campus to more contemporary assisted-living communities in the area; 12 employees offered positions within Renown.
After careful consideration, Renown Health has made the decision to close Monaco Ridge, the assisted living community located on the Renown South Meadows Medical Center campus, in an ongoing effort to ensure the highest quality and most appropriate care for our community. The facility is currently 50% occupied.
“Our focus at this time is to help our 22 remaining residents transition to other assisted-living communities in the area,” said Assaad Zeid, Administrator. “Our residents and their loved ones have been an important part of our ‘Renown South Meadows Family’ and we appreciate the trust and confidence the community has placed in us.”

As has always been the case, residents and their families have a choice of the provider and potential residence they feel is best for them. The assisted living residences in northern Nevada are widely regarded for their expertise, compassionate care, contemporary practices and attractive, modern facilities. They have capacity to accept new residents and Renown is confident their services are of the same high caliber as their residents and families have been receiving.

Monaco Ridge assisted-living is located on Double R Blvd in south Reno at Renown South Meadows Medical Center.

Today, Renown Health released its 2027-2029 Community Health Implementation Strategy, outlining how the health system will work alongside community partners to address the most pressing health needs identified through the 2026 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). Additionally, applications are now open for Renown's 2027 grant cycle. As northern Nevada's largest independent, locally owned not-for-profit academic health system, Renown Health reinvests 100% of its profits back into programs, services and partnerships that improve community health.

The three-year strategy focuses on four priority areas identified through the CHNA: mental health, access to health services, economic stability, and health risk behaviors and early detection. To support implementation of these priorities, Renown is opening applications for community funding opportunities designed to advance local solutions to identified health needs.

Expanding not-for-profit mission by providing essential and advanced care to the community with primary care, urgent care, medical specialists, pharmacy, imaging and lab beginning in December 2027.
Renown Health today celebrated the opening of a new Endoscopy Lab and expanded Pre/Post Procedure Unit at Renown Regional Medical Center, increasing access to specialized care and supporting the growing needs of patients across northern Nevada.
