Through the COVID-19 pandemic, Renown providers remain committed to safely caring for community members, both in person and virtually.
Renown Health is proud to offer same-day virtual visits to helpcommunity members maintain their health and address medical concerns amid the COVID-19crisisandbeyond.VirtualVisitsareeasily-accessiblevideoconferencingvisitswithahealthprovider.Theyareusedforprimarycare,specialtycareandurgentcaretoenablepatientstoconsultacareproviderfromtheeaseandcomfortoftheirhomes.

Virtual Visits for Urgent Care
Forurgentcareneeds,individualscanlogintoMyChartandrequestto“TalktoaDoctor”toreceivecarefromaRenownprovider.Afterfillinginsomeinformationandconfirmingtheirhealthcareconcerns,Renown’shealthcareteamwillnotifythembytext oremailwhenaproviderisreadytotalktothemvirtually.Providerswillhelppatientsdeterminewhethertheirhealthneedscanbemetfromtheirhomeoriftheyneedtoseekin-personcare.
Virtualurgentcarevisitscanaddressthefollowingsymptoms:
- Common cold and cough symptoms
- Muscular, tendon or joint pains not caused by injury
- Allergy or sinus symptoms
- Pink eye
- Urinary discomfort
- Diarrhea without vomiting
- Rashes or skin sores
- Backache
- Nail problems
- Screening examination for sexually transmitted illness (without symptoms)
- Medication refills (not controlled substances)
Renown’s urgent care virtual visits are available 8:30 a.m. through 10:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Virtual Visits for Primary Care and Specialty Care
Many primary and specialty care appointments for adults and children are now available virtually through Renown Medical Group. Individuals with an existing Renown Medical Group provider are encouraged to call 775-982-5000 if they would prefer to see a provider from home.

Lastweek,RenownannounceditspartnershipwithDispatchHealth,whichisnowmakinghousecallstoindividualswhoprefertobeseenfromtheirhomebyalicensedmedicalprofessional.Thishigh-qualitymedicalcareoptionisavailabletoallReno/Sparksresidents,bothinsuredanduninsured.Ifapatientisuninsured,thereisaflatfeeof$275,whichincludesallmedicationsadministeredand labtestson site.

Today, Renown Health released its 2027-2029 Community Health Implementation Strategy, outlining how the health system will work alongside community partners to address the most pressing health needs identified through the 2026 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). Additionally, applications are now open for Renown's 2027 grant cycle. As northern Nevada's largest independent, locally owned not-for-profit academic health system, Renown Health reinvests 100% of its profits back into programs, services and partnerships that improve community health.

The three-year strategy focuses on four priority areas identified through the CHNA: mental health, access to health services, economic stability, and health risk behaviors and early detection. To support implementation of these priorities, Renown is opening applications for community funding opportunities designed to advance local solutions to identified health needs.

Renown Health today celebrated the opening of a new Endoscopy Lab and expanded Pre/Post Procedure Unit at Renown Regional Medical Center, increasing access to specialized care and supporting the growing needs of patients across northern Nevada.
