Renown Children’s Hospital is excited to announce a new community fundraiser in partnership with the Tahoe Knight Monsters, to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN).

This fundraiser will take place during the Tahoe Knight Monsters’ final home game of the season vs. Cincinnati Cyclones on Saturday, April 4 at 7 p.m., at the Tahoe Blue Event Center, Stateline, NV which also coincides with the team’s Fan Appreciation Night.

Through a dedicated ticket link, 20% of each ticket purchased will be donated directly to Renown Children’s Hospital, helping fund critical care, lifesaving equipment, and support services for children and families across the region.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together, enjoy an exciting night of professional hockey, and make a meaningful difference for local kids,” said Chase Beeby, Development Representative, Renown Health Foundation. “We’re grateful to the Tahoe Knight Monsters for helping benefit our youngest patients. The funds they are contributing from ticket sales directly support lifesaving care, research, and programs to ensure that children and families have access to outstanding clinical care close to home.”

How The Community’s Donations Help

Renown Children’s Hospital is proud to be the only Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospital in northern Nevada, one of only 170 premier children’s hospitals in North America. Renown Health Foundation oversees the local CMN programs and its fundraising. Donations to Renown Children’s Hospital and Children’s Miracle Network help expand pediatric care, so kids can receive expert care close to home. Support also makes Child Life services and small comforts possible, including headphones and games that bring moments of normalcy during long hospital stays while receiving lifesaving treatment.

Funds raised by CMN partners stay local to support children and families in our community. Your generous gift affords much-needed items to help our littlest patients cope with the potential stressors associated with hospitalization and illness. Renown Children's Hospital Pediatricians Advise Parents on Gastrointestinal Illness Affecting Reno Area School Children

Renown Children’s Hospital pediatric experts are alerting parents and caregivers to an increase in gastrointestinal (GI) illness among children in several Reno-area schools. While most cases are mild and most resolve at home, families should be aware of symptoms, supportive care measures, and when to call their pediatrician and seek medical attention. “When a child is sick with vomiting or diarrhea, it can be stressful for families, but these illnesses are usually short-lived and manageable at home,” said Kris Deeter, MD, Physician-in-Chief, Renown Children’s Hospital and Chair of Pediatrics, University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med). “The good news is that most children recover quickly from GI illness with rest and hydration. Parents should focus on monitoring symptoms, hand washing and keeping children comfortable at home.”
