Position Purpose

This position is responsible for obtaining an accurate and comprehensive list of a patient’s medication regimen upon admission, while in the Emergency Department or prior to planned surgery in conjunction with the patient, family, pharmacies and other health care personnel.
Nature and Scope:
Renown Health is seeking a motivated and patient care focused Pharmacy Technician to join our Medication Reconciliation Pharmacy Technician team. This is an advanced Pharmacy Technician role that is responsible for interacting with patients, families, pharmacies, and other healthcare personnel to obtain an accurate and comprehensive list of a patient’s medications while in the Emergency Department or prior to surgery. This position is a highly valued member of the healthcare team because of their collaboration and important contributions to patient care.
Minimum Qualifications:Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Education:
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Prefer high School Diploma, (or equivalent), proficient math skills.
Experience:
One year of retail or two years of hospital experience as a Pharmacy Technician is required.Experience in a customer service role is preferred.
License(s):
Registered by the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy.Recognized Pharmacy Technician training program, and/or are nationally certified (CPhT) preferred.
Certification(s):
Completion of a recognized Pharmacy Technician training program or have national certification preferred.
Computer / Typing:
Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc. Typing:30 wpm.
