Director of Supply Chain Management

Purpose:
The position serves in the key leadership position related to development and administrating all administrative areas of Supply Chain Management. Specifically, the director will administer centralized purchasing functions, contracts administration, and supply chain master data integrity.
Nature and Scope
• This position will manage and lead management support services in Supply Chain for all Renown locations including purchasing, supply chain analytics, supply chain contracting, supply chain data management, and product recall management.
• This position oversees all activities including operating & revenue for the internal/external functions of the departments in accordance with the established goals and objectives of the Health System.
• This position creates functional strategies and specific objectives for each sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
• This position requires deep knowledge in each managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall department function as a whole.
• The major challenges to this position include the cost effective and efficient acquisition and distribution of goods and services system-wide.
• This position supports the Director of Supply Chain Operations in managing Supply Service and Logistics Managers (who manage daily fulfillment activities to the hospital).
• This position develops relationships with the vendor community, including serving as liaison between them and Renown Health.
• This position identifies potential for stewardship improvements in contractual relationships, recommending and implementing changes through contract amendments and renewal negotiations.
• This position maintains integrity, stability, and overall profitability of Supply and Supply Support Service agreements.
• This position establishes contracting goals.
• This position transparently communicates process improvements and changes to procedure and policies within department as well as adjoining cross functional teams, mitigating ambiguity and confusion.
• This position has contact with all levels of administration, medical staff, department heads, hospital staff, vendors, legal counsel, government officials and the general public.
• Either as chairperson or committee member, develop in-house programs for appropriate product use and help advocate supply users regarding the desirability of product standardization. Develop a product standardization process and create protocols for product use which are balanced with choice, patient safety, efficacy, and cost.
• Manage down supply costs through the implementation of a seamless inventory system and eliminating the variability. This position does not provide patient care

Education: | Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform job duties safely and effectively. A bachelor's degree in business or related fields. Candidates with an MBA are preferred. |
Experience: | Demonstrated abilities in management and program development, a demonstrated understanding of a vendor environment, materials distribution and logistics. Proficiency in continuous quality improvement programs and an understanding of business processes re-engineering. Effective relationships building abilities, particularly with management, physicians, and other clinicians. Experience in serving a multiple site organization, customers and project management capabilities. Strong and effective communication skills. Five years of progressively responsible materials management experience. Healthcare experience preferred. |

Certification(s): | Proven Previous Lean Process Improvement Implementation or minimum Six Sigma Green Belt Certification |
Computer / Typing: | Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc. |
