Renown Health Names Jeff Prater as Vice President of Rural Health
Renown Health announced today that Jeff Prater will join the organization as Vice President of Rural Health. Renown Health Distributes More Than $1 Million to Community Health Agencies
As Reno’s only locally owned, not-for-profit, integrated academic health care network, Renown Health reinvests every dollar earned back into the community — in expertise, technology, treatments, training and research — to improve health and prevent illness.
Today, Renown Health’s senior leadership team, along with the chair and members of the Board of Directors, representing more than 8,000 physicians and employees, gathered to celebrate and support 65 local not-for-profit partners working to address the area’s most critical health care needs and build a healthier Nevada.
“For more than 160 years, Renown Health has worked to improve the health of our community,” said Brian Erling, MD, MBA, president and CEO of Renown Health. “As an essential community asset, and in affiliation with the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, we appreciate the trust placed in us and take this responsibility very seriously. Our commitment has grown and evolved through careful consideration of our community’s most pressing health needs. By partnering with other mission-driven nonprofit organizations, we are working to address these issues, which include expanding access to care, enhancing affordability and ensuring that every person can live their healthiest and best life.”
He added, “Improving the health and wellness of an entire population is not easy. It is a huge task. We know that change is constant, and to take on the challenges ahead, we must work together now, with those in the field, to ensure a bright and healthy future for our kids, grandkids and future generations.”

Renown Health Foundation announced a special fundraising campaign championed by Campagni Auto Group, a local, family-owned and operated auto group in Carson City. Through May 31, 2026, Campagni Auto Group will match every donation up to $50,000 directed to Renown Children’s Hospital, the region’s only dedicated pediatric hospital, level II pediatric trauma center and Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) member hospital.
Donations made to Renown Children’s Hospital during April and May will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Campagni Auto Group, with the potential to raise a total of $100,000 if the $50,000 match threshold is met.
“Healing kids in northern Nevada takes all of us, and thanks to Campagni Auto Group, you can be a part of that care,” said Brian Erling, MD, MBA, President and CEO at Renown Health. “Right now, when you give, your gift goes twice as far. We are incredibly grateful for the support of Campagni Auto Group and look forward to seeing the inspiring stories of generosity this spring. Let’s show up for our Renown Children’s Hospital families together!”
“Northern Nevada families rely on Renown Children’s Hospital when it matters most,” said Kris Deeter, MD, MBA, FAAP, Physician-in-Chief at Renown Children’s Hospital and Chair of Pediatrics at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. “The level of care we provide during a child’s hardest moments is only possible because our community shows up. This is especially evident with Campagni Auto Group, who have stepped up to champion a fundraising effort that will surely impact our patients for years to come.”
The fundraising effort is Campagni Auto Group's first dollar-for-dollar match campaign benefiting Renown Children’s Hospital. All funds raised as a part of this campaign will support the hospital’s greatest needs.
"Renown Children’s Hospital means everything to my family," said Jeff Campagni, CEO of Campagni Auto Group. "My nephew beat leukemia here and rang the 'cancer free' bell—and as a parent, I’ve felt that same care with my own son. This hospital isn’t just a facility; it’s a place where miracles happen, where families find strength and where kids get a second chance. That’s why I’m so proud to support it through the $50,000 match campaign."
Renown Children’s Hospital is proud to be one of 170 premier children’s hospitals in North America as members of Children’s Miracle Network. Donations to Renown Children’s Hospital help expand pediatric care, so kids can receive expert care close to home. Support also makes Child Life services and small comforts possible, bringing kids moments of normalcy during long hospital stays while receiving lifesaving treatment. Your generous gift affords much-needed items to help our youngest patients cope with the potential stressors associated with hospitalization and illness.
