Dr. Dao received a degree in Biological Sciences and Global Health from Northwestern University in 2012. She then worked on expanding HIV programs in Senegal and South Africa before pursuing her MD degree from the University of Kentucky in 2013, during switch she continued global health work in Latin America. Continuing her interest in working with underserved minority women, she sought an OB/GYN residency at the county hospital in Cleveland, MetroHealth Medical Center, that primarily served as the catchment area for northeast Ohio and the local underserved and underinsured population. In order to work in a more ethnically diverse, yet primarily rural area with many unmet needs, she completed a fellow in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at the University of New Mexico in 2024. Dr. Dao hopes to continue her goal of caring for a diverse and underserved community and exploring new approaches to treating incontinence and prolapse to increase access to care and meet patients where they are.
